i found this in previous thread:

1. flash stock DXJV9 with bootloader
2. flash Speedmod
3. copy deodexed DXJV9 into sdcard
4. go to recovery, wipe data/factory reset
5. flash the deodexed DXJV9
6. let it boot up
7. flash speedmod again because previous flash will overwrite it
8. go to recovery, change RFS to EXT4

Just wondering, do i reli need to flash stock JV9 before flashing deodexed JV9? cant i just flash deodexed JV9 straight?

i am on tweaky 4.1 JVH

if u already have a gb bootloader, then you can flash the deodexed DXJV9. the above steps are meant for those coming from froyo. for those who wanna try DXJV9 custom rom with CRT off animation, overscroll glow and extra lock screens, you can try this custom rom by a Thai dev.

its running on voodoo kernel, hence if you wanna flash speedmod, please make sure that you disable voodoo lagfix first because right after you flash and reboot, it will auto convert to ext4.

after flashed, just change the product code to XME, and use titanium to remove whatever thai thingy inside will do

thanks for the advice! will try it when i go home.

have you tried it yet?

using it now, like what it says, you have all the cheesy effect, lockscreen and etc. CPU usage is high, suspect the culprit is cache. dont have that issue when i was using stock deodexed. still trying out, other than that, it runs fine.

The stupid Cell Standby bug hits again last night.  Before I go to bed I have 48% bat left and this morning I woke up the phone bat is dead already.  What the f*@K did the SGS consume almost 50% bat in less a few hrs in Airplane mode without any warning.  Luckily I have a backup alarm or I will be late again.  Damn!!!

So my opinion is GB is not ready for primetime at all.  Its got OS bug and also Cell Standby battery drain and who knows what else.

I have pretty much enough with this phone already.  Its so broken!  GPS is broken. Software is broken.  Why do i have to be on the watchout all the time for all those battery drain?  For no f8@king reason the phone might eat up all your battery and the next thing you realise is you're out of juice!  Or I could rely on it to wake me up in the morning only to find you the phone is already dead with no battery left.

Its just so much hustle to use the SGS.  No peace of mind.

I can confirm its not that 3 files that cause the drain.  I have already delete the files and it still happens.

i have been using stock, deodexed or even a custom DXJV9 rom, there isn't any issue on battery drain. perhaps the cause is from third party apps. try install seepu from market and see if the CPU is been used up

don't have to. if it needs pit and repartition, Ramad will state it
*
if u are coming from DXJV9, have to to use PIT512 with repartition because DXJV9 is running on PIT513

XXJVP is damn fast even without EXT4 conversion. the CPU score is as high as CM7. i can easily achieve near to 1900 score in quadrant. i believe after conversion to EXT4, it should hit more than 2k

Cannot really trust this quadrant score thing. My Tab with 2.2.1 (Overcome 1.6.4 rom) sometimes scores higher than my SGS on 2.3.4 (CM7) , but no way is the Tab smoother or quicker than my SGS.

i understand, the fact is the "CPU" score is never that high before. Hence samsung definitely did some tweaking to get that kind of performance. the score may not sounds promising, but try the rom yourself to feel the difference.

I think you have the cell standby problem just like mine.  Should be ok after you recharge.

i have already mentioned multiple times that to install "seepu" from market to see if your CPU is been holding by some background processes. Otherwise, you will never know whether there is anything running at background. Usually when a newly flashed rom will take sometime for media indexing and this will depend on how much photos/files you have in internal and external storage. sometimes it will "jam" while indexing and hence CPU will be running at high level for long hour. That explains why your battery drains. So far i have not encounter any battery drain issue by android OS and etc on XXJVP with speedmod T8
