Will try haha, but dont think will go to any meido kissa this time. Jom bring your kids go nippon to latih!

Tokyo seems to be almost the same, but I notice ppl are not as polite as 4 years ago, e.g. crossing road when light is red, not giving the seat to elderly in train, jumping queue and etc. Also, it's really warm now even its still early April.

Sometimes the elderly ppl dont want to sit eventhough there is empty seats. Jump queue is really shocking cos I thought their favourite pastime is lining up

Was in Tokyo 2 weeks ago and the sakura was already blooming. Warm spring except for a few super cold days end of March. I've been told that us foreigners never really understand or appreciate sakura season. It heralds the start of the new year for the Japanese - new school year, new hiring year. new financial year etc. Now's the season for new hires - you'll see lots of people wearing the "new hire suit" if you go to Tokyo station for example. Black/navy suit with white shirt. The new school year starts on Monday.

Nowadays lots of Chinese in Tokyo. Old people even in the past (obatarian) never queue. They'll elbow past you boarding the bus.

Berbanding my last trip, prices of things have come down a lot (not just due to the exchange rate). The store-brand stuff (like Aeon's Topvalu) is amazingly cheap. Price of an entry-level Toshiba washlet is now like 15800yen.

The other thing that's changed is everyone seems to be wearing a mask these days. Perhaps because of the pollen season but still - much more now than before. Stores are also selling air purifiers like hot cakes.

No choice, I have a conference in Kyoto then :/ Will stop by Tokyo for few days.

Yes, regarding that Tokyo-eki, the renovation was completed. Took a few night time photos, but not the entire building yet. Will do so tomorrow.

Speaking of compassion and moral code, it is not dead yet. A kind hearted obasan gave me an umbrella after seeing me soaking wet without one in Yokohama today. Obasan from Yamatecho, I love you! Nippon sukida!,

Minasan, need some help/advice:

Will be going to Tokyo on May 18, flying via AirAsia and touching down at Haneda airport at 11pm. Will need to catch a train from Haneda to Asakusa station. Most trains from airport will stop operating after midnight. Realistically, immigration and going down the flight will take some time…Btw my friends and I are traveling light (small cabin size luggage or backpacks). Oh yeah, we need to buy SUICA/Pasmo card also...aih!

Anyone here who's been flying via AA and still manage to get trains last minute, say around 11.30?

Here are the three options that I have;

PLAN A: Train at 11.30 PM
Take the train of 23:30 Keikyu-line.
And transfer at Keikyu-Kamata station and Sengakuji station.

PLAN B: Train at 11.40 PM
23:40 Haneda airport international terminal
↓ Keikyu-line To Shinagawa
23:47 Tenku bashi station
0:03
↓ Tokyo monorail
0:07 Hamamatsucho station
0:15
↓ JR Yamanote-line
0:19 Kanda station
↓ Metro Ginza-line
0:29 Asakusa

Downside of Plan B:
Kanda station doesn't have an elevator and escalator.

PLAN C: Train at 12.02
0:02 Haneda airport international terminal
↓Keikyu-line
0:17 Shinagawa station
0:26
↓ JR Yamanote-line
0:46 Ueno station

What do you guys think? doh.gif thumbup.gif

I wouldn't gamble as AA is known for its delays. So i stayed at Toyoko Inn Haneda that provides free shuttle from airport

Wow, the per night rate is almost triple the price where I'm staying. doh.gif
Thanks for the suggestion though.

Do you remember how long was your delay from your last experience?

This is my 4th time to Tokyo, but first time on AA btw.
