Has anyone used paypal to pay for something and subsequently pays paypal with Amex? I'm not sure how paypal works actually but I'm planning to buy something and payment options consist of credit card (vs/mc) and paypal.
Add a credit card into your Paypal. Then select the added credit card when making a payment via Paypal. AMEX is not accepted if the payment is in MYR.

Get a call from Maybank (03 27725000) to verify my CC transactions. I asked why such got such activity and the officer said it's a random checking.

Does anybody receive similar calls?

Such calls are normal. Note that for genuine calls, they will only ask if you have made transaction for X amount to Y merchant. They should not ask more than this. Do not answer anything more than yes or no. If you did not make the transaction, say no, hang up and call your card issuer immediately.

I'm aware that this practise is pretty normal but after used MBB CC for nearly 4 years, I remembered that this is the first time I received such call.

Somemore last week I did swipe more than RM 1k in a single transaction but didn't such call. Instead, they called today to verify two small swipes I made on yesterday.

They traced by spending patterns and Location based tracking spending

Like example, i swiped 700++ @ Viewnet for the first time, got rejected and immidiate got call ask did i swipe that ammount or not.

as usual i swipe for only petrol and MAX also RM200 for TnG reloads, never once i swiped over RM500, and hence i got a call (bought 3*Wall Mounts for LCD for someone cry.gif )

there's also once where i Pump Fuel to da max 4 times for the day to hit the 5% cashback on saturday (each time for all cars @ house, timestamps i think diff by 10-15 mins) and 4th time swipe got rejected, and again called me to ask did i swipe a total of 4 times for fuel, and i explained that i need to pump all cars, and got approved @ 2nd try.

Then there's also another case where i tried to swipe 3 different Fuel Pumps @ 3 Quite Far Location between Each other (Cyber Pump RM10 cos unclaimmable, Karak, pahang Pump RM40 for claims, and Sungai Buloh Pump RM30 cos come back from Karak car Dry again.) 3rd Swipe @ Sungai Buloh Got blocked, and same CS called.. smile.gif

hopefully this will clear the doubts why there's Chances of CS calls. they will First ask where are u, and what are you swiping, or they will just directly ask are you swiping this amount @ this merchant.

i only remembered my 1st swipe with classic visa wave around 4-5 years ago which has been terminated. MBB suddenly phoned me if i did that.

now with this MBB2 platinum no any phone calls. when 1st received the Amex+Visa, i phoned and mentioned that i will use in certain states & countries.

I enabled the TAC requirement on the mastercard for online transaction, called mmos or something. Can do the same for Amex?

Not sure on which basis they will call and verify. hmm.gif

It is basically the same thing but I think now by default it is MasterCard...
I chose for VISA and caused a lot of hassles for me (i.e. sent me the wrong card). sweat.gif

MSOS is only for Visa & Mastercard. AMEX does not require that.

Ok, my turn to brag tongue.gif

Received a missed PosLaju notice before Raya. I guess it is those pre-approved CC again yawn.gif Therefore, not bother to pick it up myself, waste petrol and time. So, I called and they say send after Raya unsure.gif

So, yesterday finally received it, quite heavy, slightly bigger that mooncake box size.
hmm.gif

Unwrapping process:
-> Open PosLaju bag
-> then open the bubble wrap
-> then open the brown paper wrap ( @#$% so many layer !)
-> then ...

Anyway, I did send some SMS back to MBB on those contest. But I don't know which one I win from. rclxub.gif It's an iPad 2 16GB WiFi Black icon_rolleyes.gif

(1) Spend and get an Apple
or
(2) I want iPad 2 Contest

#1 prize is iPad, not iPad2. But according to the letter I receive, the subject title is #1, not #2 rclxub.gif

I got call when pay through Paypal using Mastercard, for only RM36 transaction. I also stunned, but she manage to identify all the details without me saying it out so I knew it was genuine.
