is real promo..
for new to bank customers not existing.

at least tell us what is the new promo, or post the link here. by just stating new promo is out does not contribute much.

i was searching high and low for new promos at SCB website and then notice your sig doh.gif

aiyah, the guy cari makan where want to share his rice bowl, ahaha. Having said that, should give him warning for spamming (agree with you he's not contributing anything with his post), hahahaha

Just wait two days more and we can see promo in SCB website. My guess is that the RM450 cash back and TV is only for PB customers. If SCB really giving RM450 to ALL new customers irregardless of card type, that is truly very very good (not to say there have not been generous so far with up to RM300 cash back).

Or maybe like another fellow member reported, sign up for few cards whistling.gif

Definition of New Customers according to existing T&C - not holding SCB credit card for more than 12 months.

i dont mind getting a second SCB card if they relax this new customer ruling abit. You might be just right, RM450 cashback / LCD tv offer is kinda too high for normal card.

want to clarify ya, rm450 u need to apply for 3 cards..

the TV promo much better off. yup 2 more days u see ads up
cari makan no tipu orang one

If you are unable to prove it right now with solid evidence then it is as good as nothing.
I'd appreciate if you temporarily remove your ads until you have something concrete to show - else I stand firm on the decision to remove your post.

"cari makan no tipu orang one" - both the con and genuine guys will use this line. Difference - The genuine guys will have something to back them up - the cons have no proof. Which one would you want to behave like ?

@hye,
I didn't know we allowed "ads" here biggrin.gif I've been gone too long... but from the looks of it, Ur having the time of your life! biggrin.gif

@jonathanchew,
You need to provide a link or a source to your whatever "ad"; assuming it's allowed....

@Gen-X,
Haven't resolved my CC issue but work's keeping me just too bz to make the transfers.. looks like I'll have to go without the Priority Pass this time round.. it expires 07/12 so I guess getting into Germany/Portugal won't be a problem.. coming out of Germany/Singapore will only mean I'll have to do some shopping at the airports! Lol.... Let's Yum Cha when I get back in August `k? Should have some breathing space then since my next trip will only be in November biggrin.gif

hye is not only doing a great job moderating the posts here and keeping the threads clean but more importantly, his contribution by posting stuff that are direct to the point and factual for the benefit of all (where some members are senso and think he's flaming them).

Yum Cha... on you sure, that's if I am not asleep by the time you finish work, haha. Breathing space - you can dream, by the time you come back, your table will be full of outstanding work tongue.gif

And since it is SCB thread, better post something on SCB card or else I kena taruk by other members, hahaha.

Now SCB Platinum Credit Card holders can sign up for Personal Banking Suite where one earns 1.5 points from his/her Plat credit card spend, and then also rewards you on your mortgage, investments, insurance, deposits and online transactions. But I guess their Biz Plat with points and cash back still better.

@Gen-X,
Yes it's going to be havoc especially since I'm going to have 2 major campaigns running in the month of September through till end October but will try to make time, hopefully - U do know how bad my schedules are; so it's hard to plan ahead - also when that happens something urgent comes up and throws me off! sad.gif

Am certain @hye's doing a great job; if some members can't value his contribution then too bad for them smile.gif I'll try to come on a bit more often but I've seriously lost touch hence... won't be of much contributions tongue.gif

Now, back to SCB topic, isn't this Personal Banking Suite the same one that they offer their Priority Bankers, or is it something different? Shit.. maybe I should just ask them to switch my VI to this one instead - that way, at least I get points on my homeloan account but lose the x5 points for overseas spend [then again, don't spend that much!]

Yah, see how it goes and hopefully you can find time.

As for the Personal Banking Suite you are right, but in your case, as you pointed out, it's better you go with Priority Banking and earn 5X Choice Points for overseas with the VI and also Choice Points from your deposits and loan. And best of all, you get the Priority Pass Membership Card too.

@Gen-X,
MUahAHahAHAha BUT that would mean I need to shift all my funds into SCB... and doing that... *headache* cause then, my Finance Manager will no longer want to manage those funds for me, and I don't trust myself with those $!

How How How?!!! *aRgH* - well let's look at it when I'm back; no time to do it before I leave anyways.

Thought I post this here too based on echoesian's statement that one earning is 1% "returns"  from their SCB Business Plat and question if there are other cards out there better than SCB Biz Plat here.

Let's do a comparison based on shopping vouchers SCB Business versus MBB VI for local transactions (for overseas no need to compare lah)

SCB - Isetan and Giant RM50 voucher needs 12000 points (0.416%) and when consider 0.5% cash back total = 0.92%
SCB - Hush Puppies, MJ, Courts, Guardian and Popular RM50 voucher needs 12,500 (0.4%) and when consider 0.5% cash back total = 0.9%
SCB - KFC, McD and Tesco RM50 voucher needs 13000 points and when consider 0.5% cash back total = 0.88%
SCB - Jusco (AEON) - RM50 voucher needs 13,500 points and when consider 0.5% cash back total = 0.87%

versus MBB VI 2X Treats Points for local transactions

Popular, Giant and TESCO RM10 voucher 3000 points or 0.66% (stay away from RM10 voucher with 3000 points, better wait as MBB Treats Points are evergreen)
McD - RM10 voucher 2700 points of 0.74% (still not worth it)
Tesco and Giant RM50 voucher 11000 points or 0.9% (here SCB for Giant better)
Jusco (AEON) RM100 voucher 21000 points or 0.95%
Hush Puppies RM50 voucher 8500 points or 1.17%
MJ RM50 voucher 9000 points or 1.11%
Coffee Bean RM10 voucher 1800 points or 1.11%

So from above, it looks like if want unlimited cash back, HLB Essential at 1% better than SCB Biz Plat. But if your MBB card earns you 2X Treats Points and you don't mind getting cash vouchers, then maybe MBB 2X TP better if you patronize the merchants that offer RM50 vouchers for less than 10,000 points.

Of course best if the merchant accepts MBB 2 AMEX.

However, no one can deny that SCB really generous in giving out cash to its customers  smile.gif

Is this HLB Essential can be asked to waive Annual Fee and GST?

not really, what he advertised was RM450 Cash Back and 32" TV; and after we mentioned it is unbelievable that SCB offering RM450 only did he clarified that the cash back of RM450 requires one to apply for several credit cards. I did not see picabot mentioned by him.

Anyway, here is the latest deal - http://www.standardchartered.com.my/person...-conditions/en/

You have to purchase the 32" TV which will cost you minimum RM829. From his ad, I was under the impression tha one would get it FREE when signing up for a SCB card.

As for the RM450 cash back, now let's see, from SCB website, minimum cash back RM150 but if you apply online RM200. And like other who have reported here, can apply several at one time.

Assuming one applies for the SCB Gold, Biz Plat and Plat, one is eligible for RM550 and RM850 for branch or online application respectively rclxub.gif hmm.gif thumbup.gif Better than his offer of RM450 tongue.gif

The point is, posting should be informative and best backed by source or proof so that others are not "mislead". Furthermore, agents are to post at Service Noticeboard, so actually hye was very accommodating when he requested for the source of his ad.

Fair question.

Online applications can be immediately forwarded to the relevant department for processing cutting out agents.

Same as Citibank Case where they reward customers who apply online.
