Yes the dirts come from them is normal.Dont worry about the color,try to provide them the lowest temp u can so then they will turn back into green
What i usually do is during the hot weather i will put 1-2pieces of ice to cool the temp

yes, this is good for marimo, another way is you can put your whole bottle into fridge (not the freezer) for 24 hours

I used to have one super nano (5mm) marimo few years back when they have booth in midvalley... i got the toys plus pillow too... but unfortunately after keeping the marimo for a sometimes while i change water that time it drop into the basin ....

I thought i can't get it in Msia anymore except from Japan and now i know who should i look for to own Marimo again!!!!!!!!

All added to the list. I never see my giant marimo breathing, izzit because of not enough lights or the temperature is too cold? My aircon is on 24/7 @ 24c.

Just ensure that you move your marimo around whenever you can, to ensure that they get sufficient light on all sides.

And yes, the discolouration will happen when water temperature is a bit warm. I keep mine in an aquarium with a fan to cool the water to 28C.

my new tank for marimo(only) for now. previously was using some container only cos no time buy tank like our friend somewhere in this thread here
now then i notice that its kinda big for 2 giant + 4 nano
but oh well.

Fulamak.... really serious in "keeping" them:).... if you think is too big for them then add in more friends (fish - not gold fish, stone, deco).... fast fast post final outcome of ur tank^^

yeah let them happy happy in it haha..
i think will add some fishes in near future.
but for now. only my marimo and a pack of gravels. still in the process of washing the gravel. very dirty

this is nice, suggest you to put 500g till 1kg of coral stone, it will be nice buy a small hanging filter and you will find out that the marimo is rolling when water pumping, nice to see hahaha, best fish for marimo so far I felt is Red Nose Tetra + Zebra Danio, because they are hardly mati

alright haha.. gonna take some time to finish decorate this

This tank cost you around RM6x right?Brand dolphin?add tetra also they like it very much but not guppy because guppy is tropical fish which they prefer warm water like 30celsius. Marimo prefer cooler water so add those fish which suit to the temp

so bought cheaper one, seastar aquarium
rm40 around 5-litre size

dunno y my nano marimo like to stick near to my giant marimo, i separate it, then it go back near to the giant marimo again
