haha, no worries, this is the common issue from my buyer, there are 3 ways to get the marimo out, 1st fill it full of water then hardly shake downward to make the fella out, 2nd, use cotton wool to absorb as much as possible the water and the marimo will shrink in size when dry up, then you can easily take it out, 3rd way is the easiest and fastest way, break the bottle, since it is free   

it will change to brownish/blackish if the marimo dead, btw why u wan to cucuk the marimo? BBQ?    nice photos! many oxygen bubbles producing by the marimo! hahahaa

When cleaning, gently squeeze out the dirty water and slowly roll it a little between your palm. Then it'll float when you put it back into the water.

mine is like that too.. i guess its normal? haha
just wash my marimo and about to migrate them into a proper tank 

my new tank for marimo(only) for now. previously was using some container only cos no time buy tank like our friend somewhere in this thread here 
now then i notice that its kinda big for 2 giant + 4 nano 
but oh well.

for me, every time i change the water, i just squeeze them haha.

hmm.. hehe weird. 
so far after i clean mine, only got small small bubbles stick on them. don have dirt sticking on them yet.

mind if i ask where do u keep them? with ur fish or something like that.
or maybe u wait for advice from leeyung or someone with more experience

woops, I am here, show us the photo of dirt perhaps? usually marimo got dirt outside and inside one, for outside dirt, you can gently rub them and roll them to clean the outside dirt and for inside one you have to squeeze the marimo under running pipe water, so that u squeeze out the dirt water and fresh one masuk etc... until you see no more dirt water wakakaka, marimo cute ler, everytime after u clean them then it iwll have bubbles around one

hahah i used something like that too    before i switch to a proper tank.

giant sometime float sometime dont
nano rarely float
only after cleaning them then got many small bubbles around them

no worries for all, marimo doesnt float and no bubbles didnt mean that it is not healthy, sometimes water level too low also do not make the marimo float, most of the time marimo will in sink condition unless you perform water change and clean the dirt inside marimos. The photosynthesis of marimo do product oxygen but our "eyes" sometime cant view the tiny oxygen bubbles produced by them. as long as the color of marimo is green then it is fine relax
