Sorry to inform you bro, the marimos already in dying stage, since you mentioned your GF do put the marimos under direct sunlight. I thought we all over here already discussed about this? We shall avoid direct sun light against marimo as UV do kill them Btw, your GF put the marimos under sunlight for how long? whole month?

I can't say exactly how long, but I don't think is whole day. I forgotten the fact, because I had it under my light, so I told her to put it under the sun. It is my bad forgetting the basic needs for the marimos I will keep them in the tank hoping the environment can recover them.

I like to see the plants living well in the tank The idea of keeping them alive is challenging.

marimo is a start i guess. it happened to me.

I treat marimo as a pet more than plants

i really love my marimos lol, every week i patted them so they dont collect fish poo and tank dust, make them firm and ripe green
just wished they grow faster since they usually got eaten little by little by my ghost shrimps

Ghost shrimps eats Marimo?

always saw them nipping bit by bit using their tiny pincers.
cant see any drastic damage of course. but maybe their nipping made my marimo stays in shape i guess?

better yamato than ghost shrimp la luqee... dont be so cheapo

just got back today, cant find my yamotos lol..
marimos seems to look fine though. and those ghost shrimps love to play under it.

First, the tank is prepared to welcome the new kawai addition. Fake plants have been removed!


The Marimos are in ! The floating one still yet to find his perfect landing spot !


The other 4 Giant and 2 Nano have settled down. The busybody Neon Tetra started to mingle with these kawai Marimo.
