thanks a_sim... just now headache on the new setup of my tank which is now housing some cardinal tetras, ottos, algae eater and 1 small pleco (dunno what type but a small type, not the RM2 one...) still doing research on the best setup and landscaping it. so i guess once i receive tomorrow they gonna stay in temporary container before my setup is completely ready to accept them

last nite manage to setup the tank but still no landscaping... add on boyu fan and manage to drop the temp from 32°C (normal temp before) to 28°C (this morning temp) and i think it is sufficient for the marimo... hopefully there will be not much different between day and night temp.
i'm just thinking izzit ok if we put in a small nylon string through the marimo and put in the tank vertically so that the it will only sink and float at a specific place... just wondering... hope other members with experience in marimo can answer this. tq... There is so much things to know about the tank setup but to conclude your setup, as long as they seems ok, no need to do anything, just frequent 20-30% water change, that's all...
Take care of the water and the water will take care your fishes and plants |

Just put in sealed bottle wouldnt be a problem... There are people keep them in sealed bottle only for display, not for travel purpose...

I on my fan 24/7 but i need to top up evaporated water quite frequent... If u on only for a while i afraid temp fluctuation which is not good for tank residents... Light also there are various type... But surely not that pasar malam one.. Maybe for marimo is enough bcos they dont need so much light but for planted tank there are lights specific for it, available at most lfs... Led for planted tank is quite expensive...
Sorry to mention but actually theres a specific thread discussing on planted tank in LYN where the requirements are totally different from marimo... U may have a look and ask the sifoos there Added on October 26, 2011, 10:47 pmJust sharing my shrimp gathering centre ![]() This post has been edited by z8net: Oct 26 2011, 10:47 PM |
