QUOTE(jwrx @ May 28 2011, 05:39 PM) Found out the hard way...Went to track and was expecting to pull away from them but find it a bit hard to do it.... so we organise the dyno for the club and 2 of the MK6 turns out with this result. One map... 250 on wheel.... at 15% power train lost, that's close to 300 bhp on engine. 15% for manual FF is decent but DSG is after all, auto.... so it should be more than 15% ya'll. No fuel pump issue... no cam follower bollocks, no timing belt bollocks.... I would say the MK6 is a good daily drive car with reasonable priced maintenance... Added on May 28, 2011, 6:03 pm QUOTE(jwrx @ May 28 2011, 05:44 PM) kev, no need lar..save your money, get a 335i trust me...its and a 2k+ road tax... Agree its a fast car but I am a Quattro guy... LOL.... S4/S5/RS5 too expensive, RS4 too old.... This post has been edited by k3v: May 28 2011, 06:03 PM |

HP plus not bad... but noisy.... I prefer the ceramic ones but those also noisy when warm. Ceramics you gotta becareful, cause the bite wouldn't come in until its warmed up..... I tracked twice with the ceramic pads... OK la... Else, go for the Golf R BBK..... or porsches like mine! LOL ![]() Write up here |

QUOTE(k3v @ May 28 2011, 03:40 PM) Recommended 5w-40. so THAT'S what causing the bloody wind noise! thanks k3V! time to go pay my SA a visit.why 30? Using Castrol 40, you may have to top up your engine oil already at 5000km. Check your oils every 5000 km if you drive it hard. Keep 1 litre spare in the trunk. And in case you are wondering.... W is not weight. W is weather. .. 30,40,50 is viscosity... I got hook-winked in buying 0w-40 sports edge once because someone told me its W is weight and the lighter engine oil gives you better power.... blah blah blah... felt stupid when I got home and my little engineer bro laugh kok at me. Added on May 28, 2011, 3:43 pm Are you sure its the suspension or your rubber lining at the door when you cross the bump and your car flex (natural).... If it is what I think it is.....this is already a highlighted problem in VGCM forum... where the flexing of the car creates a rubber movement sound which is inside the car.... Here's the thread in VGCM: http://www.vwgolfclubmalaysia.com/index.ph...g47109#msg47109 Here's the fix http://www.vwgolfclubmalaysia.com/index.ph...g40850#msg40850 Here's the Technical Service Bulletin (TSB) - in case u think I BS you la http://myfastgti.com/volkswagen/threads/91...-from-Door-Seal Added on May 28, 2011, 3:45 pm just checked my engine oil...alright for now..3k mileage...which shop sells castrol 5w-40 at a very reasonable price? gotta get one for top ups just in case |

I never try set... always say wanna put it on but end up going sunway install this and that... come home sleep! LOL If you don't drive hard, you will be fine.... if you drive hard i.e. all the way to 7k rpm.... not doing high way runs at 200km/h.... you should be able to last 15k but still i thik should change every 7.5k..... if you anal like me... every 5k. I think i bought castrol edge 1 ltr for RM 50.... try those spare part supplier shop.... or you can buy the 4 litre, pour into a 1 litre bottle.... if you need one empty 1 litre bottle, let me know cause i have some torco oil bottle somewhere... Thanks for the info as well k3v! Is it easy to get this Gummi thing? I googled it and it returned a lot of overseas sites. Planning to join u all this Wednesday TT to learn more from the sifus as well Also the link you gave earlier was really handy! According to the TSB, there are actually pads that VW need to also put into the pillars to prevent the wind noise. Anyone you know actually manage to get VW to add in those additional pads to reduce the wind noise? |
