Recommended 5w-40.

why 30? Using Castrol 40, you may have to top up your engine oil already at 5000km. Check your oils every 5000 km if you drive it hard.

Keep 1 litre spare in the trunk.

And in case you are wondering.... W is not weight. W is weather. .. 30,40,50 is viscosity... I got hook-winked in buying 0w-40 sports edge once because someone told me its W is weight and the lighter engine oil gives you better power.... blah blah blah... felt stupid when I got home and my little engineer bro laugh kok at me.

If it is what I think it is.....this is already a highlighted problem in VGCM forum... where the flexing of the car creates a rubber movement sound which is inside the car....

Different Turbo... MK5 Borg Warner , MK6 IHI turbo.

MK5 TFSI churns 200bhp stock taking into account 15% powertrain loss, that's 175 on wheel which a mapped stage 1 mk6 1.4 TSI can eat them for breakfast.

MK6 2.0 TSI churns 210ps and that's on wheel. If you put same equation back on... that's around 250bhp.

This one is mk6 Revo Stage 2 with modification to TBE only. No CAI



This one is mua's MK5 REVO stage 2 with sh|t load of mods and not even near his power.



MK6 TSI rocks... but not stable and hence the Golf and Rocco Rs are using the TFSI engine - also because they can use the engine and plug in the KO4 turbos which works like a charm. Even without a map, the KO4s already deliver 250bhp.... one map and 350bhp, not impossible......

Which reminds.... Owen Turbo or KO4 turbo? haha.... I am short of one HPFP and I can belanja the car behind eat stone chips.... hahaa.....

Found out the hard way...

Went to track and was expecting to pull away from them but find it a bit hard to do it.... so we organise the dyno for the club and 2 of the MK6 turns out with this result.

One map... 250 on wheel.... at 15% power train lost, that's close to 300 bhp on engine.

15% for manual FF is decent but DSG is after all, auto.... so it should be more than 15% ya'll.

No fuel pump issue... no cam follower bollocks, no timing belt bollocks.... I would say the MK6 is a good daily drive car with reasonable priced maintenance...

Friday is more ideal cause we can go for RUNs after that.....

I tried to move the TT date to Friday... but come Friday... 2 batang... me and vincent... so how? Everyone still goes back to Wednesday for TT.... I am easy.... I just can't be bothered to spend 2 days in a week going to TT.... to be honest.

If possible, combined is best... let me talk to the regular first and see what they say.... cause I think some also wanna go for RUN on Friday night...

No need la bro.... Read the VGCM threads, members there tried using tape la and some rubber softening solution.... its called the Gummi Pflege Stift - I know cause I bought two for my own use! haha.

Next TT, i let you tumpang a bit la... members say it works...???! I never try set... always say wanna put it on but end up going sunway install this and that... come home sleep! LOL

If you don't drive hard, you will be fine.... if you drive hard i.e. all the way to 7k rpm.... not doing high way runs at 200km/h.... you should be able to last 15k but still i thik should change every 7.5k..... if you anal like me... every 5k.

I think i bought castrol edge 1 ltr for RM 50.... try those spare part supplier shop.... or you can buy the 4 litre, pour into a 1 litre bottle.... if you need one empty 1 litre bottle, let me know cause i have some torco oil bottle somewhere...

Can la.... I asked them to do it before that was when it was still VW cars.

The guy who did it for me is now in jln 222 FA Wagen. His name is Vicky. During your first service, tell them that you have wind noise. They will adjust the doors again.... or so he says he adjusted la...

Alternatively, go modify your exhaust.... remove resonator.... you will never notice the wind noise again! hahahahhaha

Depends what you want....

Power

Change the whole Turbo Back Ext (TBE). Bigger pipe size, more power but less torque and vice versa. If you are going for stage 2 map, you need to change TBE to 3" to maximize your output. If you keep it at 2.5", you get enormous torque and problem lower HP

In general, the less restriction the best for Turbo cars cause you don't need back pressure like the NA cars and some goes to the extend of de-cat.


Some grunt and looks

Change the Cat Back Ext (CBE).... didn't really measure the performance gain but heard someone saying change CBE can get better power.... maybe stock flow is not good? Don't know... havent seen any data that backs it other than butt-dyno.

This is long story cut short la....but always decide what you want before you do this.... ext mod can be very cumbersome, today you may like a bit more sound, tomorrow you may find travelling at 160km/h with droning cabin driving you nuts - mine went from loud, to soft and loud again and back to soft! LOL and its not something you can put it into a forum thread because its really very subjective.
