Depends what you want....

Power

Change the whole Turbo Back Ext (TBE). Bigger pipe size, more power but less torque and vice versa. If you are going for stage 2 map, you need to change TBE to 3" to maximize your output. If you keep it at 2.5", you get enormous torque and problem lower HP

In general, the less restriction the best for Turbo cars cause you don't need back pressure like the NA cars and some goes to the extend of de-cat.
Some grunt and looks

Change the Cat Back Ext (CBE).... didn't really measure the performance gain but heard someone saying change CBE can get better power.... maybe stock flow is not good? Don't know... havent seen any data that backs it other than butt-dyno.

This is long story cut short la....but always decide what you want before you do this.... ext mod can be very cumbersome, today you may like a bit more sound, tomorrow you may find travelling at 160km/h with droning cabin driving you nuts - mine went from loud, to soft and loud again and back to soft! LOL and its not something you can put it into a forum thread because its really very subjective.

They adjust your door so that it is tighter..... I did it before cause I complaint about the wind noise on my MK5.

bro i dont wanna spend so much on a aftermarket exhaust..
is there any way to mod the exhaust to get better sound...
as u said can i just replace the stock exhaust with 2 pipes?

i dont mind loud exhaust since my previous cars which were wira + city both had straight flow mufflers hahaha
so im used to it already

Ok cool! Can probably then get the pedals off you as well then on Wednesday.

Yeah in the last post in the thread you mentioned, (http://myfastgti.com/volkswagen/threads/9123-2010-GTI-Annoying-Wind-Noise-from-Door-Seal?p=191033&viewfull=1#post191033) the fella says that the Technical Service Bulletin

Now I really do hope that our local VW service would do this for the cars here.

They will do it but they will charge. I did complain that my TSI has this annoying squeky/rattling sound and the SC said its an know issue. They too have a solution-some silicon seal but ......we have to pay for it, cost about RM200++. VGM said its not covered under warranty. Is this reasonable? Cergaz said they will try to negotiate with VGM and do it FOC but to date no news. I plan to heck it and fix it when I send the car for first service lo..pay also I dont freaking mind.

Some one managed to capture the picture of the totaled GTI from FA Wagen Glenmarie. It's on Ryou's Modshop Facebook page. Crap man, looks bad and air bags were all deployed.

Different Turbo... MK5 Borg Warner , MK6 IHI turbo.

MK5 TFSI churns 200bhp stock taking into account 15% powertrain loss, that's 175 on wheel which a mapped stage 1 mk6 1.4 TSI can eat them for breakfast.

MK6 2.0 TSI churns 210ps and that's on wheel. If you put same equation back on... that's around 250bhp.

Dyno chart here ->

Charge what? For something that is not right to begin with?

Did they charge for replacing the leaking wiper on earlier mk6 gti?

Don't think they should charge to fix things that is wrong to begin with

Not sure r32, but stock mk5 gti can outpace a r32 because gti is lighter.

Wah what oil change? I don't open work shop la bro! Hahahahah

oh ok, just now busy so cannot change at EM, tomorrow close
and tomorrow got a long drive to do, it has been 8k km since my last oil change
i prefer to do every 7.5k km....not sure my driving consider hard or just normal, high speed 180-220 is about once a week, in one week driven 5 times....redline rarely

for me the only good thing about the r32 is just the sound and AWD, for straight line gti anytime

Which car?

I have mk5 GTI, mk6 GTI oil filter in my store now... you can get it from at the TT on wed.

We have a promotion now. Free oil filter.

http://store.modyourfast.com/collections/f...o-oil-promotion

Else. Can always buy them off us.

To be honest, I have not sold them separately for a long time so I can't really remember the retail price for it. I think SC sells them for RM 68 or something but I guess can sell you for RM 55 la.

Hi, was wondering...can I get the polo oil filter from the outside shops? Roughly how much is it? As I plan to change my engine Oil and filter when it reaches 7k mileage. The official vw service centre cost a bomb...wil only go them them when it reaches 15k...thanks for your help.

I am using Forge Diverter Valve (DV) which I did a write up here -> http://k3v.modyourfast.com/?p=345

That's before I relocated it -> http://k3v.modyourfast.com/?p=1081

user posted image

To be honest, unless you are going where I am going.... I think the DV may not be everyone's mod.

Why?

1. The DV requires servicing every 10-15k, else sludges (because it is valve and you have rubber grease running through it... overtime, the grease hardens) will reduce your DV efficiency until you have serviced it. This is one of the reason why I relocated my DV to the front of my car so that I can DIY service every other 5k.

2. The DV gives a wooshhhh sound when you accelerate, something like sound of intake and as you progress further into your modification with a Cold Air Intake.... you will get an even more funnier sound when you throttle off - some say its a monkey, some say its a duck and defeats the EURO refinement blah blah blah... I say its fine by me. LOL

Because the DV is mechanically operated as opposed to the existing electronic DV which is operated by your ECU, you can hold boost better. The older revision of the stock standard DV comes with diaphragm and because of that it breaks easily through wear and tear. Subsequent to that, VW has already released an improved version where the diaphragm is now replaced by a metal/aluminium part (hmm... actually i am not sure what material haha) so you should be alright.

I have been using the Forge DV for a while, I think its a good mod but really subjective to what you want to achieve. The stock standard DV works with charm as well.... but if you are heading towards a bigger turbo, you will require DV relocated (the S3 ko4 turbo has its own relocation kit using REV D DV) and because I will going there (sooner or later...keke), the forge DV relocation suits me.... question is... are you going that way? smile.gif

Here's another pic of my engine bay with my DV smacked in the front....

user posted image

My Peak Boost - not necessary good but I rmbr it happened at 6th Gear... can't say what speed because its not legal! haha

user posted image

By the way, I know someone wanna sell his used Forge DV which he only used for 2 mths and took it out because he got lazy and didn't want to service his DV - hence why I caution you before you proceed. But should you proceed, get this one.... used units are cheaper tongue.gif hahhaa
