I've been thinking between Golf GTI and Golf R ... (Both Brand New / 2011 / 2012 model ) Mark 6
The reason I like Gold R is because of the xenon headlights / LED rear lights and the wheels. PS: And also the blue paintjob ...

Obviously Golf GTI is more than enough for me as a student, just wondering is it worth paying the extra for Golf R ?

I save about 15k from buying the Golf R ... 15k can be used to buy my insurance / service and mods .

I'm thinking of buying the GTI and just mod it up. ( Not major mods ) , Just installing BOV , ECU upgrade , maybe rims and suspension . Any inputs ? =D

As a casual driver with only a slight interest in mods, I'm happy with my choice so far.

The DRLs make a big difference aesthetically. All the tech and gadgets are awesome. Build quality is top notch.

Torque and HP are good but the 1-second delay when you press the accelerator from idle is quite annoying when you're trying to get out of a junction fast.

One thing I notice is that driving this car, nobody looks at you twice. To the layman it probably looks just like a Hyundai Getz or a Myvi on steroids hehe.

So anyway - does anyone have any advice on tinting? Is it really worth it to spend RM2,000 on premium tint when you can get similar specs and same 5-year warranty on a significantly cheaper local brand?

What stops you from getting the OZ racing Ultraleggera or even the Super Torismo. They weight much lower at 7.4kg for 18 inch...

Cool bro. The caractere rims fits ur car nicely. What's the dmg? hahaha definitely gotta lower the ride the big gap can still be seen between the wheels and the body

Its berguna ma, at first me myself also frustrating about the delay but when you get used to it no prblemo at all !! :-D    Safety First

Haha relax bro, tekan brek siap0siap when you want to shift from R -> D :-D .. hehe other safety :-D

i've learned to b ready to pull E-brake if it slides down esp at the slopes.... when u abt to release ur foot brake... the car slides tho u pressing the gas pedal... if u press too much gas pedal.. u wheel spin pulak .... just gotta get used to it n pull the e-brake like the old days..lolx

Im going penang on Friday, so decided to check my tires b4 the trip just to be safe..lucky, cos 1 was botak, 1 cracked sidewall, 1 bengkak...so had to change full set new tires....will use until botak, see how next year

btw..for ppl looking for ABT MK6 kit...redzone is Sunway has very good quality replicas, black PU, excellent workmanship and quality, its damn impressive...sorry forgot to ask price

well front is the BBS CS and the back CW1...   neway initially i wanted the BBS CS but too bad they dun hav stock for the correct PCD 112. the one u c in pic is the 114. to order 112 will take 3mths... so cudn't wait.. decided to just get the caractere set instead. 

anybody interested in RNS510 ... lelonging mine at below rm4000  ... the screen protector on the lower right a bit not nice.. to some maybe won't irritate them .. but i just feel not perfect... so letting go n ordering another set.  drop me a PM if u interested.... function wise all 100% perfect. u can't c the "imperfection" when the unit is ON ... but onli can c the "crease mark" when the unit is off... will try to take a pic later....  but if anyone interested n dun mind the small mark on the screen protector.. drop me a PM...

actually tat was the problem lah ... i bought one clarivue SP. When i took out the old SP it was too sticky and sticked on the original layering on the player thus when i pulled out the old SP it created a bubble on the original layer. I tried using CC to push the bubble in but mayb i'm not pro enuff ... i made it worst by leaving a crease on the ori layer. neway not in real hurry to sell oso lah ... if not.. then i just get a pro fr singapore to help me replace the SP ... or worst i just transfer this unit to my Golf and buy another new unit

Hehe maybe you can try ordering the protector and taking it to one of those pros at a handphone shop. It's a head unit but the process of installing the screen protector is still the same as a handphone right.

(But then you'd have to pray the handphone shop guy doesn't fail, or you'd need to order a new protector all over again  )

But still its hard to find a good workmanship around the northern region  Just want to get something that is worth the price... is there any good one around kl region? Might as well drive down to install it... I think im more on Akrapovic sound  ... Now waiting for fellow vwers to provide reliable contact for any exhaust shop (specifically northern region) if not around kl also can...
