Hey guys ,

I've been thinking between Golf GTI and Golf R ... (Both Brand New / 2011 / 2012 model ) Mark 6
The reason I like Gold R is because of the xenon headlights / LED rear lights and the wheels. PS: And also the blue paintjob ...

Obviously Golf GTI is more than enough for me as a student, just wondering is it worth paying the extra for Golf R ?

I save about 15k from buying the Golf R ... 15k can be used to buy my insurance / service and mods .

I'm thinking of buying the GTI and just mod it up. ( Not major mods ) , Just installing BOV , ECU upgrade , maybe rims and suspension . Any inputs ? =D
*
If you love to mods then GTI for the way, if you wanna stock then golf r for the way.. For me 15k more are enough for bbs rim and also changing the led light to golf r light on gti :-) .. anyway you more to spend, spend on suspension then save a bit more get The Badass Brembo disc kit.. Last step for modding Gti are the power output hahahaha looking are more important than the power for me la, bcause stock gti oledi fast ma..

After months of deciding between Golf GTI, Golf TSI or Scirocco, finally got my black Golf TSI today.

As a casual driver with only a slight interest in mods, I'm happy with my choice so far.

The DRLs make a big difference aesthetically. All the tech and gadgets are awesome. Build quality is top notch.

Torque and HP are good but the 1-second delay when you press the accelerator from idle is quite annoying when you're trying to get out of a junction fast.

One thing I notice is that driving this car, nobody looks at you twice. To the layman it probably looks just like a Hyundai Getz or a Myvi on steroids hehe.

So anyway - does anyone have any advice on tinting? Is it really worth it to spend RM2,000 on premium tint when you can get similar specs and same 5-year warranty on a significantly cheaper local brand?
*
Its berguna ma, at first me myself also frustrating about the delay but when you get used to it no prblemo at all !! :-D thumbup.gif Safety First

What stops you from getting the OZ racing Ultraleggera or even the Super Torismo. They weight much lower at 7.4kg for 18 inch...
*
welll i've used OZ before... the Ultraleggera..on my prev ride.. yes it's lighter... but since i've quite heavy footed.. and the roc is quite high on torque... afraid each time coming fr standstill i'll get lots of wheel-spin .. so opted for ard 10kg rims...

Cool bro. The caractere rims fits ur car nicely. What's the dmg? hahaha definitely gotta lower the ride the big gap can still be seen between the wheels and the body biggrin.gif
*
tks dude... definitely gonna lower it soon ... actually if i want.. i can still change to the BBS CS... a fren giving me until friday to decide as he is getting a caractere set too .. so if i wanna go for the bbs.. he'll take my set... so still contemplating .. but seems the caractere set esp the inner color is a match to my "dark maroon"... anyone knows the best price for the BBS CS 18" ? hup soon has no more PCD 112. i pushed him below 6k for the CS

Congrats! About the power from idle, at first you'll complain, later on you'll be used to it. biggrin.gif whereas tinting i personally prefer 3m although I haven't done any on car, its good cause it works on the rest of my family's cars.

What pisses me most is when the car rolls back after shifting quickly from R to D. The moment when there isn't any power at all, damn frustrating man grumble.gif

Not on slopes la, for what u go Reverse and then D again lol. I mean like on flat ground, doing 3-pt turn etc, after R and when the car still going backwards a bit, you straight push to D... Arghh

I dont know roughly about the akrapovic pricing in malaysia but our member ask the dealer for non-titanium akrapovic exhaust kit reach 9k :-) .. donno about fully titanium loh maybe can push up till 15k ? maybe.. Yeah akrapovic is the definitely a beast choice for germany car in exhaust technology and also i love the other german exhaust brand called Innotech exhaust system.. The sound that coming out from it also damn sweet, search the video of mk5 or mk6 gti with Innotech Exhaust system put on to hear the juicy sound.. Summore got auto-manual valve controller oo jangan main-main.. icon_rolleyes.gif drool.gif

actually tat was the problem lah ... i bought one clarivue SP. When i took out the old SP it was too sticky and sticked on the original layering on the player thus when i pulled out the old SP it created a bubble on the original layer. I tried using CC to push the bubble in but mayb i'm not pro enuff ... i made it worst by leaving a crease on the ori layer. neway not in real hurry to sell oso lah ... if not.. then i just get a pro fr singapore to help me replace the SP ... or worst i just transfer this unit to my Golf and buy another new unit smile.gif

Hehe maybe you can try ordering the protector and taking it to one of those pros at a handphone shop. It's a head unit but the process of installing the screen protector is still the same as a handphone right.

(But then you'd have to pray the handphone shop guy doesn't fail, or you'd need to order a new protector all over again rclxub.gif )

Roll back? When? On a hill slope? Your electronic brakes did not engage?

If I am not mistaken, Wearnes sells the Akrapovic exhaust in their Sungai Besi branch. Best to call and verify first.

600km no need service. just enjoy your journey. when you reach 5k km maybe you can check your oil level. of course the first service supposedly after 15k
