by looking at the design alone, seems to be a quiet tires.
jointly developed by the Silverstone parent's company @ Toyo.

Travies@
much depend on your budget and preference. xm2 is marginally ahead.

Str33tBoY@
if you're using the same size, fc will not be affected.
try pumping different pressure. anyway, performance tires is differ from those economical
tires which employ more of a low rolling resistance tech with some compromise in overall performance.
i guess it was down to the tires performance, you've got more confidence. thus, you drive faster. wink.gif

skyblas@
any range from Yokohama, Toyo or Michelin is fine. much depend on your driving style.
avoid low range Falken like 522 / 322 or those NCT5.
check out the link at the first page for better understanding on tires behaviour.

noprob@
bigger rim isn't always better. 205/20/16 or 205/45/15 might give better stance and handling brows.gif
but there could be some compromise in car's fc / behaviour.

Intrigue@
go for F1 Asymmetric 2 which has had better sidewall's performance.
PS3's performance in wet and dry is good but sidewall is a tad too soft compare to the previous PP2.
even the new RE002 is worth a look. it's overall performance beat other tires with double A rating.

supermac@
its Achilles ATR(not ATP) Sport. my cheapest drift tires. use 'em for drift rounds. yet no sign of crack (in / out).
tires is hard and noisy thou. 420 treadwear, hence most people will use it for more than 3 years
due to lasting / thick tread. that's when the crack appear!
we did not determined the tires usability by tread's thickness alone. there are this sidewall / shoulder / rubber condition, storage / usage environment, age and so on need to taken into consideration.
come to Dataran Merdeka this coming 17-18 dec to see the Achilles ATR Sport in action.

fyi, my expensive tires cracked (2.5 months old - undisclosed brand for some reason) under 'intense'
weekend drive(never use for drift). something unexpected from someone who change tires every 6 months.

a shop which recommend you a Rapid P609 does not deserved a 2nd visit.
rather than going for those unknown china tires, check out Nexen or lower range Kumho.
Kumho KU-37 which is made in china but return a decent result.
in most cases, treadwear does determines the tires performance. in foreman term, the lower treadwear
tires' are generally more sticky.

btw, tires is definitely one of the most important part in the car. no compromise in safety!

guys, any idea on Nexen N8000 and Hankook V12?

i know hankook V12 is proven and full of awards. How is N8000 stands against it?

and btw, yokohama Cdrive 2 is no where near v12 and N8000 right? though the price very near to each other.

any recommendation for 215/65R16 tyre? which brand or model do u guys think is best bang for bucks?

currently using dunlop which was bought around march this year with rm260 per piece and now it cost rm300 each(which i quoted from the shop last week)

tyre price hike up so much in few months time... sweat.gif sweat.gif

so do u guys have any recommendation for the budget within rm300? i think my dunlop is not bad, but the wind noise is kinda high on highway....

i have not much knowledge about tyre, all the while been using dunlop...
mayb its time for try others?? hmm.gif hmm.gif

need some input from sifus here
thanksss

my stock tire is conti comfort contact-1...i also thinking of changing to michelin XM2, but abit expensive le, any other recommendation?

how about yoko a.drive?

so u think its better to change to 195/60? fuel consumption got affect anot?
*
Sorry, never use yoko before, can't give any view

185/65 to 195/60 is the most closer choice that contribute
- less differences on odometer reading (1% faster).
- car height lowered bit
It do affect fuel consumption bit, for me acceptable.

185/65 to 195/55
- odometer reading (about 4% faster)
- car height lowered more

Dear All Master,

My tyre size is 215/55/R17, would like to change it because it is stock tyre by Hankook Optima.

My budget is around Rm500-RM600 per tyre. I would perfer good grip tyre because I always travel up and down, safety is more important. Any recommendations?

Thank you smile.gif

hi, looking for new tires for 2007 city, currently running on michelin pilot preceda 195/50/15 stock rims.

should i stick to 195/50/15 or is there any other size tat is better ?

looking for all rounder tires tat have decent comfort, durability and performance. hows michelin XM2 ? Tried falken 912 on myvi and happy with its price and performance but due to its soft compound i can feel that it wont last long.

so wat is the tire shop to go to ? hin leong at jalan kapar ? thanks for the heads up.

People should try Atlantis V7, i got them for 1 and half months already.

Wet grip is confirm good while dry is ok too. Road noise is low for me, maybe using 15" is the reason.

Pricing wise is also cheap because locally made at RM185 ppc.

you got a better stability at higher speed, more direct steering feel and better handling.
the different in speedometer minimal but other than the diameter / sizes,
you need to take into consideration the added weight. more weight means extra load to the braking capability whereby your car will stop at further distance but less nose dive feel during braking.
weight affect your fc and acceleration too.
+ 1
from 185/55/r15 to 195 width, different in speedo reading is around 1.9km slower.
better on 6jj wheels.

Hello, may I ask/learn how do we know if our rims fits the particular tyre measurement? E.g. mine is a 16" rim, stock tyre 205/60/R16, and in the market there are some other sizes such as 215/60/R16 and 225/60/R16. How do I know mine can fit into the 225 width (10-20 mm difference)?

Appreciate all replies. Thanks!

turbocharged@
different is very minimal. very much down to your preference smile.gif
have not try c.drive2 yet but v12 and n8000 is almost on par.

psycho1@
suv tires? you may look for yokohama avid series. noise level is quite low compare to bridgestone dueller
other decent option are those of kumho solus series.

skyblas@
if you drive at leisure pace, conti comfort 5 is fine.

jie103@
ps3, toyo c1s, hankook v12 evo or falken ze-912.

quote=kenji1903@
cc5 isn't mean for spirited driving. good enough for daily leisure drive though. the redesigned ze-912
should be okay compare to previous one.

kevinphuah88
ps3 or v12 is decent enough.

Eng_Tat@
muc depend on your driving style. if you like to attack corner, buy something
with harder sidewall. ps3 is fine but as mentioned, sidewall is a tad to soft.
else, wet and dry performance is good.

tbc...
