earphones for sleeping? blink.gif
u mean like earplugs to block the noise out?
or u wanna listen to soothing music to help u sleep

for running probably some canal phones since they fit tightly in your ear, tried with normal earphones before and they kept coming out
but some light headphones might be better for this, think there are some specially made ones

Lol, the subwoofer only 32mm... =P I think a normal stereo headphone should do just fine, compared to pricey 5.1 headphones.

I've posted this on mikechai's bulk sales thread but I thought that I'd try my luck here since all the gurus hang out here. thumbup.gif

Which of these 2 headphones will be better for my usage, assuming that cost is not taken into account. I use it primarily for soft music/ classical/ jazz / great-vocals based, ballads/instrumental wub.gif ... and sometimes the ocassional soft rock and pop.
Not really into alternative/ heavy metal stuff.

Was hoping that someone who has tried or experienced both/either of these models could help me out. I have another thread asking about the HP900 but seems like not many people knows of this model (obselete?). And from the feedback i got, it seems like the HP900 is not really recommended. So, i was wondering what about these two models?

P/S: I hope it's alright to post it here as a new topic. The mods please feel free to help move it to somewhere else which they feel fit. Thanks notworthy.gif

errr, depends on how much money you want to spend? the SHP 895 is supposed to be superior to the 805, based on price =P If you have even more cash, go for the HP1000 biggrin.gif

i have tested both. and i listen to mostly jazz/acoustics/soft rock and some pop which closely resembling your taste of music. and my advice is, get the SHP-895. in fact, i'm telling you to keep away from the SHP-805. tongue.gif

the bass, mids and highs on those 805 is accepatable considering the price (which is half the 895), but it lacks depth, stereofield and soundstage. really, the depth is just not there. you won't get the sound that you will get with the 895.

the 805 is also brighter than the 895, and is easier to drive compared to the 895. even my Apacer USB MP3 player could drive it quite well compared to the 895. and while the 895 would definately benifit from external amplification, the 805 would stay static.

the 805 is lighter than the 895, and doesn't clamp as hard as the 895. but for the sound that you will get, i strongly suggest the 895 over the 805.

Have you tested the HP1000, btw? Is it a worthwhile upgrade over the HP 895?

Does this mean that the 895 would definitely need external amplification? If it is used with a portable player (discman, mp3 player) without any external amplification, how is the performance?
