Currently, I am thinking of either these 2 options.
1) Etymotic ER-6i AND Sennheiser HD 555
2) Shure E500 PTH
Option 1 is much cheaper than 2 as well and I will gain two new 'phones instead of one.
Is Shure E500 THAT good to justify the price?
Should I pick option 1 or 2?
1. What type of music do you normally listen? These are seriously for classical lovers. If you get these two for portable and home use, which is a good idea but be aware that ER6i has 'totally' (to me) little/no bass. I would have recommend you Shures (E3C, E4C, UM2) or other cheaper IEMs.
2. There are a few users have has it? Tell them to share their experiece with you?

i'd go with the Shure if you don't plan to go full desktop setup/transportable setup. That means only go for the Shure if you want a portable setup with a portable amp.
Shures and Etymotics are like Grados and Sennheisers, they are really different. You should really know which sound signature you like best before you purchase anything.
EDIT: Found out that the IM716 is slightly more expensive than the ER6i

, i guess unless the IM716 sounds significantly better than the ER6i, otherwise it does not worth that extra money.
Ya, it's significantly better. Some even compare it the ER4?
But seriously I do not 'prefer' ERs. As it lacks the bass 'that I want'.
Even the iM716 which they say to have a lot of bass still lacks a tiny bit of bass 'to my listening level

'. I gotta use an amp to amp it.
P/S: all are personal comments, please dont take them for real.
