Currently, I am thinking of either these 2 options. 1) Etymotic ER-6i AND Sennheiser HD 555 2) Shure E500 PTH Option 1 is much cheaper than 2 as well and I will gain two new 'phones instead of one. Is Shure E500 THAT good to justify the price? Should I pick option 1 or 2? This post has been edited by verticalforce: Feb 10 2007, 03:02 AM

I like smooth-midrange for vocals and from what I've read, E500 has the smoothest mid-range ever in an IEM...
I like a little bit of bass, but not overpowering like the CX300 and Shure seems to have lots of bass from what I've heard...
I had the CX300 but it broke after 2 months...
Btw, I'm not planning to get any sort of amp. I hate amps.
I'm currently in the UK and can get Shure E500 for around 200 pounds off the US Ebay...
Contacted shure about this and they said the warranty (2 years) will still be applicable even if i buy it from ebay. Gotta be fast though, they are changing their policy this summer.. well..that's what their customer support told me anyway...
Anyway, should I just say **** it and get another CX300?. After all, I don't have a golden ears or anything.

I just bought the Shure E500PTH from ebay for less than RM 1000 (or 141 pounds including shipping to UK), cheap!
Lets just hope that thing arrive safely... the seller has like 95% feedbacks with only 21 ratings but I'll take my chances, considering that it's cheaper than elsewhere. He sold a couple of Shures and one of the customer had already given him positive feedback, so we'll see how it goes...
I can use the extra money to buy some amp now.... hehehehehehe

Ksc 75 is great. I would say that they are pretty much on par with my Shure E500. E500 obviously sounds better in some areas, but the difference is not as huge as one might think.

QUOTE(walabies @ Apr 29 2007, 03:40 PM) Sounds not huge compare with E500?! RM1.5k vs RM60 pawns. it's so shiny..i mean...how the **** they made it so frickin' shiny lol... the shininess of e500 is enough reason to own one... lol... E500 sounds awesome, but I need to get better source and starts downloading things in lossless, they are not very forgiving to badly encoded mp3s. My next venture is amp! I can't afford tomahawk so I'll probably buy one of the cheaper one like ibasso or minibox.
