while the AD900 is definitely out of your budget, you may refer to my review of it in this post: http://forum.lowyat.net/index.php?showtopi...post&p=42471023 (a complete review with links/references link is also there that links to my website)

The AD700 in general speaking is after all, a scaled down version of the AD900.
you may also refer this website: http://www.headfonia.com/audio-technica-ad...1000prm-ad2000/ for info on the the Audio Technica AD series

anyways as previous poster said, please refer this thread for recommendation: http://forum.lowyat.net/topic/1849925

adding more link lol

thx for the link. actually I posted at that famous thread but then the reply wasn't as fast as I started one here. well I guess those pros are not free at day

Strictly speaking, if you are a certified basshead, then ad700 is not the headphone for you. There is bass, but mayb not as heavy as some other bassy headphones. But, in return, you have very clear audio.. So, depends on what type of music you listen too..
However, since I'm not a basshead, the bass provided by my headphone is more than enough IMO.
Haven't tested it with games yet, but the reason i chose ad700 is because of its sound positioning and clear-ness. Can hear each word clearly and can hear where your enemy shooting from (source: my friend is a user of the ad700) smile.gif
Anyways, I can't really give you a good comparison as my previous headphone was a RM50 headphone >_>
So, obviously this headphone pwn my old headphone.. Lol..
But, compared to my sis sennheiser px100, the sound is also much better..

thx bro. your info are so appreciated.

I don't think the ad700 is truly a scaled down version of ad900.. They both excel in different things, the last time I checked (can't rmb what any longer, unfortunately).

Edit: here's a review on ad700 http://www.headfonia.com/audio-technica-ad700-review/

if you read from this: http://www.headfonia.com/audio-technica-ad...1000prm-ad2000/

then yeah, it kinda is. i've audited to the ad700 myself at jaben. i CAN settle with what the ad700 can provide, especially when its MUCH cheaper than the AD900. what i cannot tolerate is the purple color lol. even headfonia mentioned that. so yeah i went with the ad900 without second thoughts. (audited ad1000 [again, non-PRM as jaben singapore didn't have it at that time] too, very little difference for almost twice the price, so yeah, no brainer again on the AD900's)

Seems like you guys seriously recommend shure srh750dj, have you guys have good experiences with it? Assuming you're listening to a trance song right now, with a thumping base, sweet vocals and an electrifying melody. What would the shure srh750dj do for this song?

haha, the best DJs use surprisingly dull models.

According to them as long as headphones provide sufficient isolation, bass is sharp, does the melody and vocals justice; its suitable for use.

Tell me how that goes! I wanna hear what you have to say for that pair, looks promising!

In all honesty you're gonna need to try them yourselves man. If we like it doesn't necessarily mean you will as well haha.
If you can go to Jaben and ask them for a try. I don't know of any other store that would let you try on though. (accept for apple stores but their choices are limited)

My Rig: I listen to my music on these devices: HTC Desire HD, Dell XPS M1530 (yes, the one with the incredibly crappy speakers tongue.gif )
Type of usage: Mostly music, some movies.
File format: mostly mp3s / what a regular consumer would listen to.
Music genre: lots of instrumental (take note), jazz-type songs, vocals, pop songs, a whole variety of others. However, I don't really listen to rap/R&B.
Budget: RM350 maximum.
Headphone/ earphone type: over-the-ear/full-sized headphones. (very firm with this. coz i have funny-shaped ears and the supra aural types hurt.)
Other requirements: looks nice? tongue.gif i work in the creative line so, eheh, aesthetics is kinda important to me. but it's no biggie if it's not. biggrin.gif

FYI I'm a total noob. I've never owned a pair of headphones above RM50 in my life. So thanks in advance to anyone who is willing to help me out!
I was thinking of Audio Technica ath-sq5, but I'm wondering if it's any good or if i could get something better with my maximum price range.

Fischer Audio FA-004.
Although for some people it's almost supra-aural. If you have smallish ears they are circum-aural definitely. For some they have to fold their earlobes a bit to get them inside. laugh.gif I guess Russian ears are a tad bit small then the rest of us. tongue.gif

Otherwise, what calmshot just said, Shure SRH440. biggrin.gif
