Hey guys wanna ask your opinion on headphones. I'm currently using Shure SRH440 but they're kinda big and not really portable to be used on the go. sooo...
- My Rig: iPod Nano 4gen - Type of usage: music listening - File format: FLAC, MP3 VBR - Music genre: Acoustic, Rock, Alternative (you can see from my sig i'm a Radiohead fan), Screamo, Electro, House, Dubstep, almost everything except those mainstream Bieber-ish songs? haha - Budget: < RM600? - Headphone/ earphone type: Over-ear Headphones - Other requirements: Has to be lightweight, portable.
I'm thinking Fischer Audio FA-004. They look great, seems to have good reviews and the price isn't bad. And then there's the AiAiAi TMA-1. Looks great as well, also seems to have good reviews but kinda expensive. Also, is it On-ear or Over-ear?
AAAND 1 more thing, anyone tried the Fiio E11 amp? is it comparable to Hippo Box+/Ordnance .22/Govibe Martini etc etc? haha I liked how my Shure sounded with the Hippo Box+ (i find that the SRH440 is kinda lacking bass without it), not so much on the ordnance because it made the highs sound kinda ear-piercing.

QUOTE(MrJinggles @ May 8 2011, 06:06 PM) E11 is not out on retail shelves yet. You can read ClieOS' impressions on the E11 here http://forum.lowyat.net/topic/1865368Hmm judging by that impression it seems great! What's the pricetag on this bad boy anyway? haha

QUOTE(MrJinggles @ May 8 2011, 06:42 PM) Search the trade section or read ClieOS' impression carefully. He stated the price in USD http://forum.lowyat.net/AudioRelatedAccessorieshaha whoops. missed that the first time. thanks! QUOTE(CoolBoy89 @ May 8 2011, 08:39 PM) Using Denon AH-D1001, it seems to fit ur requirements. Lightweight, portable, extremely comfortable(I can wear it for 3-4 hours without any fatigue).. It's also a good all-rounder headphones. I listen to almost every types of songs and they sound good in most of the songs. Give it a try. EDIT: Forgot to mention that they pair really good with Hippo Box+. So u don't have to worry finding a new amp for it haha that's interesting. doesnt look as nice as the FA-004 though. and twice the price. hmmm.. and i dont own a Hippo Box+ YET. and good thing too, since the E11 is almost out. haha This post has been edited by nabzblitz: May 8 2011, 10:28 PM

QUOTE(hexion @ May 9 2011, 01:19 AM) bro, can solo HD beat those IEM below RM400, in sound quality? i've tried the Beats Studio HD. not worth the price, seriously. and i doubt the Solo is any better. eventhough ironically, the Beats were responsible for bringing me into the audiophile world. hahahaha when i first discovered it early last year i was like "WHOAAHH MUST SAVE UP TO BUY THIS BEAUTIFUL THING!" then i tried it and i was disappointed to say the least. and yeah you can probably find better IEMs around that budget. and i don't like IEMs so that's not a biased opinion. haha This post has been edited by nabzblitz: May 9 2011, 01:46 AM

QUOTE(hexion @ May 9 2011, 01:59 AM) huuu.yeah i know it would come to this, the design are the only cool in dr.dre n the main attraction. + forget to mention this, i listen to all kinda music within this category: pop,rock,instrumental..n i bet those 3 category will bang my bucks to get the excitement feeling while listening to it with my earphone or headphone. any recommendation? i dont like bulky things...i prefer something portable n quite nice design + good quality sound.. hmm i don't know much about IEMs but a-Jays would probably suit your budget. if you want headphones, i discovered Fischer Audio FA-004 today, and i'm falling in love with it lol. not bad price and it's quite lightweight. according to the reviews i read, not bad also.

Right now i'm considering Fischer Audio FA-004. It looks great, lightweight, and looks like got reviews. Might think of Denon AH-D1001 as well. But according to reviews it isn't that great, and it's twice the price as the FA. Any other to recommend?

QUOTE(walabies @ May 10 2011, 05:27 PM) I would shortly say D1001 has a more mid eccentric sound signature, more warm sounding while FA004 I never listened to it before. You have to buy based on reviews. Hmm.. according to this review the FA-004 is quite good. Just not sure if it's worth paying double the price for the Denon. haha. Are you selling it at the store?

QUOTE(amir_tengkorak @ May 12 2011, 08:22 AM) Which Ultimate Ears u want to compare with A-Jays? Just.. In general. Hahaha. My girlfriend's interested in this pair of UE which is around RM150 if i'm not mistaken. But i'm planning to get her a-Jays 4. ahaha. BUT if the difference isn't that much then might as well get the UE. Unless you guys have other suggestions for IEMs for iPhones? (with Mic+ControlTalk) It needs to be.. pink or purple. ahahaha This post has been edited by nabzblitz: May 13 2011, 01:01 AM

QUOTE(amir_tengkorak @ May 13 2011, 10:05 AM) Low end UE not good wei.. Seriously.. A-Jays good la.. But u have to spray pink la..hahahah ahaha thought so. Anyone auditioned the AiAiAi Pipe though? Comments? a-Jays 4 is sexy as it is so no need to spray. QUOTE(khchong81 @ May 13 2011, 01:14 PM) Planning to get a headphone. Considering Phiaton MS400 and Shure SH840. Which one is better? Currently owned UE TF10pro, is it both headphone that i am considering sound better than TF10pro? I didn't even know the Phiaton is available here. QUOTE(noobandroid @ May 15 2011, 09:13 PM) i might go for AiAiAi, gut feeling only Why eh? it is slightly cheaper, but there aren't a lot of reviews for it online so i have no idea how the sound quality is like. On the other hand the a-Jays 4 does have a few good reviews. How how? This post has been edited by nabzblitz: May 15 2011, 09:59 PM

QUOTE(tunertoobe @ May 15 2011, 10:05 PM) Unlike the TMA-1, which is an audiophile grade DJ headphone, the AiAiAi is aimed at the masses. The specs and reviews says that the Pipes are only passable in terms of sound. For that price I tend to agree, but they sure are good looking though. Thanks for the input! I'm leaning towards the a-Jays right now but like you said, the Pipes are good looking, which would be a plus for the girlfriend. Haha so yeaah caught in a bit of a dilemma.

QUOTE(MCQueen @ May 17 2011, 08:29 PM) Mate! So sure? lol. most of them i saw live. Armin, James Zabiela, Gareth Emery, Carl Cox, Sven Vath, Markus Schulz, Richie Hawtin, Paul van Dyk, Guetta, Dubfire, Afrojack and even deadmau5 last time most of them using HDJ-2000 now. thats why I'm asking! Quite unrelated, but how on earth did you see all of them live! Deadmau5 fine he was just here (and i had to miss it) GAH jealousy. But actually i've also been wondering why Pioneer almost never comes up in audiophiles. How does it do in terms of sound anyway? Mediocre?

QUOTE(angah_as @ May 17 2011, 08:36 PM) is that true that 'PL11(sound magic) is miles ahead of EP-630(creative)' now im in dilemma what to choose between 1)EP-630 2)PL11 3)hippo groove (budget RM50-60) As far as i know soundmagic is known for being a bang for a buck. but really you won't know until you try them.
