- My Rig: PC and probably my Walkman.
- Type of usage: only for music.
- File format: MP3, MP4, FLV etc.
- Music genre: Trance only, or some slight jazz.
- Budget: around RM500?
- Headphone/earphone type: Headphone.
- Other requirements: prefer those big ones cause I got a very big ears.

do I have to get an amp?
was planning to get speakers, but I shelf plans to get it cause I'm too busy with my studies nowadays. Running around the place the whole time, don't really have the time to sit down and seriously hear some good music.

Designed by DJs, built for Trance.  The highly acclaimed AiAiAi TMA-1.  Google around, plenty of rave reviews.

That is a sweeping statement which is not being substantiated by actual figures   shakehead.gif

For generic DJ brands like Stanton, Technics, Pioneer, Newmark etc, there are sponsorship programs with popular DJs especially during their public performances or MVs to promote the brands.  Just like the Monster/Dre's.

The no. 1 DJ, Armin Van Buuren uses Stanton DJ Pro 2000, Tiesto as well.  David Guetta uses Sennheisers, Above & Beyond as well. Deadmau5 uses in-earphones.  These are the Top 5s in 2010 rated by DJ Mag and none of them uses Pioneer.

Going beyond the hypes, not forgetting that we are all posting in the audiophile section, there are the highly regarded AKG K181DJs, very big in Europe.  Then there are the Sennheisers with new entrants like the V-Moda Crossfade, AiAiAi TMA-1.

You will find a list of 26 top European DJs that are working with TMA-1 here: http://tma-1.com/#/our_testers/?member=test0

Here is a detail comparison review between the Crossfade and TMA-1.

I second this.

no DJs use Pioneer headphones, but their turntables brows.gif even the former world 1 DJ Clive Rudloe uses Pioneer turntable. IIMN, Above and Beyond, Tiesto uses Pioneer turntables too. I wonder ATB uses what headset?
I agree that those top DJs are being sponsored by those well known brands, Technics, Stanton, Newmark etc. Even AvB's Stanton looks like a AKG rip-off.
Ironically budding DJs featured in Anjuanabeats like Mat Zo, Adam Nickey uses Sonys laugh.gif

AiAiAi TMA-1, I don't have the balls to buy it laugh.gif still waiting for more of those specifically built for DJs headphone :]

Quite unrelated, but how on earth did you see all of them live! Deadmau5 fine he was just here (and i had to miss it)
GAH jealousy.
But actually i've also been wondering why Pioneer almost never comes up in audiophiles. How does it do in terms of sound anyway? Mediocre?
*
Deadmau5 blush.gif don't really like what he mixes.
anyway, he is funny especially when he comes out from backstage with his mickey mouse head blobbing up and down.

Tiesto using Technics? laugh.gif

Okay, thanks bro! will go there one of this days to test it.
anyway, are those people there friendly? shakehead.gif that time I went to the C-Zone [i]Store to test H/K SS3, the staff there very unfriendly, and I feel so awkward there, really facepalm.

i think brainwavz m2 fits u well, can google it for reviews. or if u add a lil bit, get shure se215. or there r also several iem from AKG.
*
Shure SE215 looks interesting, but it is a little too pricey for me sad.gif
the only AKG that I'm looking into is K330. What about others?

do you think I should get Fiio E5 to pair up with the IEM?

better get good earphone instead of buying amp for IEM. unless u have a high impedence or low sensitivity IEM/headphone.
*
Ok, then I think I'll settle for that Shure SE215 since getting an amp + IEM is almost that price nod.gif
