I am thinking of getting Himedia 600A but now I see 900A which is Rm100 difference. I don't really need the 3D now but the 750Mhz is very good.
My only concern now is whether the 900A firmware very problematic? What I really need now is being able to play blueray iso with DTS-MA or Dolby True HD passthru. Is 900A so far ok in this area?

I just helped a friend to buy 600A for RM300 in Digital Mall, but he is a simple user to watch his movies on his LCD. Realtek chipsets don't support full BD 2.0 menus, only BD 1.0 and BD-Lite, so if that's okay with you, then should be fine I guess.

I'd like to know if others are having troubles with BT on the HiMedia 600A.
Not all .torrent files can be loaded into Neighbor Web. Is this true?

Don't really need full BD menu. Bd 1.0 and lite is fine. But HD audio passthru is a must because I am getting a new receiver with HD audio.
But 900A is only Rm100 more and its hot faster cpu and ram.

QUOTE(ccs221 @ Nov 8 2011, 07:00 PM) yes can say like this, but still 1186 higher specs than 1185 chipset de, 750Mhz, 512M DDR3, HDMI 1.4 n Support Adobe Flash, when try the 1186 player operating speed is much faster than 1185 player de for Android, this function i feel got many apps not compatible de, so just can say is a extra function only.. but as i say hd900a price rm399, so why still nid pay extra but get low specs (1185 chipset) player sumthing like ac ryan, xtreamer...himedia also is a very good brand.. Does the faster 750Mhz helps in producing better PQ, etc?

Ya, agreed with you, only Rm100 difference to get more functions and better in spec. But anyone tested can 900A support those 30GB above size .mkv file?

since 600A confirms can play those .iso file, it is a waste of money just for that extra Mhz IMO.

firmware release from Himedia for 600 series is getting slower and slower.. I hope they are not abandoning this series and diver their attention into 900x now... If it is the case, I would have to think twice before I get my second m.player from this Co.

Sad to say that would be the common practice that not only for HiMedia but all the manufacturer. They just want to push the customer to go for newer models and boost the sale instead of supporting the old deivces. The support of old model will be slowly be gone...

Firmware releases are for bug fixes and improvements.
If the unit has got not much bug left, normally no firmware will be released.
Unless it's a major revamp such as interface, functionality etc.
But looking at 900 series reviews, the firmware is actually built on top of 600 series firmware. So meaning the functionality should be the same.
Thus, a slowdown in 600 series firmware release is normal.

Firmware releases slowdown means the player is quite stable now, also 2 or 3 month Upgrade one time is quite normal de (i sell media player few years ady, i cant say himedia firmware support is the best but sure can say its top de)
yes, still have sum problem can see from they forum, but u can see those problem ady not common de, different environment, different equipment all will may make those individual issue happen de... no 100% perfect player exist in the world, also dnt have any player can make 100% ppl satisfied... (u can check sumthing like ac ryan, xtreamer... forum also face many problem de)
Currently for hd600 series Personal think ady very ok de, except online streaming movie (but at malaysia other brands also same de)
