Hi, would like to ask why my 600A Hitv feature is useless one??? I have tried a lot of movies and none of it can be watched, after selected certain movie, it will keep loading for a few seconds and then one message "this file cannot be played", what is the problem?
*
two reason: ur network speed too slow or that channel can not play at malaysia..(i test like xunlei, pptv all working de, quite lot movie in there ady, but nid wait buffering)

in malaysia these players for online streaming movie can say is just a extra function, dnt expect too high (unless u try those like ENT or ASIABOX network player will be a bit better de), himedia is qiute ok ady, many brand nw still cant play YOUTUBE or YOUTUBE XL de..

The streaming capability in M'sia really sux. PPS is blocked altogether.

I tried putting the player on DMZ also the speed does not really improve.

But then there are so many servers to choose from, so try a few more and some might be better. My buffer never increase over 35% so it's damn laggy.

One question though, i m using 600A and planning to plug in a HDD and share it through NFS and make the 600A into NAS.

Is it ok to leave the 600A on all the time so that i can share the HDD to my other network devices?

I am afraid prolonged usage might harm the unit. Thanks biggrin.gif

Should've gotten the 600B with internal HDD support. Ended up buying an external USB3.0 Sata HDD Case which costs around RM100 also. sad.gif

But then, the USB interfce in 600A is only 2.0, does it worth the extras to get the USB3.0 Sata enclosure?

Hehe, i have USB 3.0 in my desktop, sort of a future proof investment.

I find it expensive at RM99. Should've bought the Dlink NAS enclosure. Also RM99. But didn't know of it's existence then. Sigh...

Or go ahead with 600B sad.gif

I have several 20GB MKV files on my NAS and can confirm that the HD600A plays them fine. It even bitstreams the lossless audio to my AVR

900 Series seems very good. But price steep a bit.

Can read review (in Chinese) here.

http://www.hdpfans.com/thread-30405-1-1.html

I'll sell off my 600A and get the 900B once the price comes down a bit. I will also need a 3DTV tongue.gif

According to ccs221, post #321:
600A and 600B all the spec and functions is the same except 600B can plug 3.5 inch hdd, usb 3.0 port and front touch pad.

As your mention, 600A have no issue to handle 20GB .mkv .
Can I assume 600B also can handle the same?

Now I’m still considering whether worth to spend extra RM80 just for USB3.0 on 600B ……

Anyone can recommend which shop at Lowyat able to find this player?

Himedia A and B series is always differenciate by B being able to host a HDD internally.. Other specs are the same except the USB2.0 in 600A and USB3.0 in B. But mind you, himedia forum has many post about the heat generated in 600B..so pls read more to decide whether u r ok with this 'design defect'.

Hi numbertwo,

The heat issue is it cause by if fix internal hdd into the box?
As i didn't plan to put any internal hdd, i will always play big video file using external hdd.
That is why i'm still considering whether need the USB3.0 to ready for coming USB3.0 external hdd smile.gif

the heat issue is not caused by internal hdd. the entire 600b is freaking hot and i can confirm that. but if not much ppl complain it dying anytime soon then i dont care. makes me think the reason why they created the 600c was to put a fan bcoz too many ppl worry and complain.

and imo, the usb3 is nothing much unless if u plan to xfer stuff from the player to the external, which most ppl rarely ever do that.

how big is big ? 30+gb bd-iso ? ive seen this demo unit at lowyat, if not mistaken is just the 600a playing bd-iso.

=============
now on to my question :

do you guys use the torrent feature ? i've tried it and it kinda suck, the most stripped down downloader ive ever seen.

is there a way i can add trackers to it ? and sometimes it gives error saying its not a valid torrent while its perfectly readable on pc.

I haven't read the HD900 review in its entirety. But it did say an internal fan has been added to help lower the internal temperature. It also mentions the internal fan volume is quite low but this is obviously very subjective without any objective sound level figures to back it up

而600B為人詬病的內置硬碟過熱問題,900B也加裝了一個風扇去解決。

看來加裝這個風扇的確能把溫度控制下來,而且風扇的聲音很小,
