well, normal for things that people think are overpriced....a lot of people starts questioning them, until they actually own one....

Is it worth it to buy other than mx17 now? you got rm3k+- solutions with great graphic solution

I thought Mr Docter's Alienware uses GTX280 SLi which is better?
Yes they are upgradeable provided the BIOS support it, and the power supply is sufficient.
But I've found modded BIOS for M17x R2 if I am not mistaken, at Tech Inferno forum, whereby with this BIOS
there is no more restriction on what card could be installed.

The easiest way to see this is to compare what console are available on that time.
For example, right now we have XBOX360, and as long as XBOX360 is still in the market, then most probably
you can play most games on high, until next gen of console is arrived, it is expected next gen console from Microsoft
will be released on 2013. This is the time where most graphics engine got updated to a new level, as many games currently
are ported from console. But, with the specs of current high end GPU, I would say it will last longer.
What I said is based from what have been discussed in other forum.

out of curiousity , wat specs do u guys think is ideal for m18x ?

At least i7 2720QM and crossfire HD6970M.
Upgrade the rest if you have more budget imho.

I've been using my m11x r3 for a few days now since saturday.

Received the wrong power cord though, had to buy a 7RM one to be able to temporarily plug my laptop to the adapter.

.. and the adapter so big as hell, it's too bulky.

I'm trying now to get the correct power cord or even have DELL replace the whole adapter to the slim one, hope they allow it.

How to get to the ownerlist? hehe need to put service tag here? (Although my service tag isn't in dell's system yet)

The thing is that only the M15/17/18x wouldn't get outdated that fast because of the flexibility in upgrading them components... but the same thing cannot be applied to the M11x and M14x, where the price is paid for portability instead

Mostly high end graphic card is minor different compare each other. Just the graph of the review made the customer mind what to buy. Simply just a few fps different.
I own most of the alienware, but still...... well after u guys step in desktop world then only u know what is performance

haha, light gaming is ok la, as long as you don't forget about her can already....my god-brother's wife is cool enough to let him play...he plays dragonage...and he's like mid-30's now...
