actually that was the whole reason the boss introduced him that amp cause he doesnt wanna put a processor, so he thought he might be better off with sound magus. according to the boss, sound magus amp is a product of lightning audio or directed audio ( im not sure).it was designed for them but they never really went to production, so sound magus manufacture it by themself, i dunno how far its true......

Bro, with his budget... enough for processor ah?

QUOTE(amdhunter @ Dec 16 2011, 08:47 AM)
Audited sound magus last week.. dominations 3 way + sound magus amp/dsp.. sound abit laidback/natural for me.. but i like the imaging where you can spot left left center center etc etc  biggrin.gif

Guess Sound Magus is on the soft side then.

Maybe Dominations should be pair with amp that is "keras" a bit....

I'm using Crossfire for it.

well, im merely providing advise from a ice kaki beginner to buy something that is worth buying, your budget is 500, it's very damn close to the recommended 500-700, at most you just save 1 more month or so, right? then you'll appreciate and cherish what you've bought, instead of buy and complaint/regret later, or wanting to upgrade again later.

in the end, it's your money, your call.

Sifus,

Currently using a GM5400-T amp (380W RMS @ 4ohms bridged) paired with a 300W RMS sub. I'm planning to upgrade my sub to a 400W RMS sub. Using vented enclosure.

Would the 100W difference be noticeable?
Do I need to readjust my amp's gain? Or I can just change the sub with ease?

Noticeable only if you know what 400w sounds like lor. Otherwise you're just underutilizing the sub. No big deal la.

Should be a simple plug and play. But try adjusting the gain and see how it affects the sound. Like it then increase it, don't like it put it back to what it was. But generally try not to overdose on the gain. I think the recommendation was no more than 70% maximum gain? I dunno. My gains are usually rarely over 50%

When talk about "Sound Magus", mostly people will compare it with "PowerBass, US, Massive Audio, US & Option Audio, Australia" where test outcome was same "Laid back / Natural" and also physical amp are similar. Just the latest Sound Magus amp look like Focal FP..

Dear sifus,

I've recently saved up some money and decided I really need to have my car sound system changed as I spend most of my time driving.

I've got a budget of around RM1500
I'm looking to spend this one time to get a decent sound system which can last me for many years. Any good recommendations?

Last for many years - Probably better if you save up sommore and get RM3000 at least.

Last you for now - I think around RM2100 can get you a front component, amp and a sub.
