^Get a new car first then only you put more effort and money on it. Because your first mistake already made(getting the lowest end Pioneer HU). Amp's onboard crossovers are very limited, it may not able to suit your need sometimes. As most of them have 0-500Hz only. But even for the lowest end Pioneer HU, the speaker outputs power is pretty decent. Getting speakers with rated power of 20-50W(like the Pioneer's 4" coaxial) will be good,

craziechild : Indeed my mission is to shoot down acc shop's business, especially in KL area which you and some others are doing the free ads for them(or employed by them, whatever). I'm pretty sure I won't help others to buy, because the conversion rate is changing everyday and I don't want any potential problem that surface out later on. Or since you like to personal attacking me, why not you do this? Or unless you will be paying for the difference, then I will help.

superjunk, unless your are using the amp's built-in crossover to tune a full active system, the 0-500hz frequency cut off range is wider than enough to tune a passive set-up.
For example, you can either HP the front comps and/or LP the sub within this range.
So can you explain why the 0-500 hz is very limited??

You always say ppl are doing free ads here??
Just read your very own signature again:

My sales thread if looking for good quality speakers with affordable price:

http://forum.lowyat.net/topic/1232589

and tell us once more just who are doing free ads here??

Superjunk, just don't talk nonsense and run around the bush trying to hide your stupidity!!!!
Just answer the question:

Why do you think the 0-500hz is not enough to tune ???

Be responsible in your replies!!
Don't mislead the newbies here!!!

Trojan virus???
I think you are worse in spreading false info here!!

eh boy... use your brain... if someone ask you to help buying, of course la that buyer is gonna bear the differences... so next question is... why you have to think that you have any problem with it? or its just plain "no profit, do for what?" mindset fo yours... or its just all talks... under declare la... madisound la... JL HD750/1 la... woah... all bulls? all talk but cannot go? laugh.gif anyway... i find your bulls everywhere... initially "i wont step into a acc shop, then in another thread, i found XXX amp in a acc shop somewhere with XXX price... laugh.gif

why i dun do the buying for icers? well... what for... i trust the local market + sg market is well enough to provide the service and equipment that all ICErs need... other than that enthusiast are everywhere to assist anyway they could... and i wont be suggesting buying from USA unless the buyer knows the risk... salah salah 250USD gone because the package arrived with a hole...

free ads? where is my free ads? laugh.gif i work for KL/any accesories shop? where? which one? doh.gif i am just a student... not an installer, or a ICE worker of any kind... i dun even have a job... let alone employed... sweat.gif

but hey... you are selling crappy-ton... wan to talk about free ads... look into the mirror first la kid...

personal attacking? hmm... i dun like it actually... but i write out what i see wrong... so that people dun get mislead... if all are good infos... i will just kept quiet like the last few days... but you... hmm... i think you like personal attacks and become a monitor hero more than anyone here... but ask you out for friendly TT... kecut hati you... except when got water fish in your area... woah... that one you like the most... can con off some money ma right?

and lastly... why not i do this?
i am not a conman wannabe... wink.gif

Hello to all the sifu(s) of the ICE world ... need some recommendation here..

Basic ICE setup for my good Ol' Proton Saga,

My budget is around RM500, can tug it around a little (sure gonna go up up 1 laugh.gif)

so .. im looking at HU + Front Component set,

yes i know a good HU gonna cost me around RM400 already. If can just recommended me both the follow budget version and up up a little budget version.

P/S the car has no Front Speaker mounts... would it cost alot to get the speakers mounted in proper orientation? they are supposed to face toward me right? not just parallel to the door panels..  if im gonna do it might as well get it done right... right?

Since its an old car, and i do not know the condition of the old wiring, + player was stolen couple of years back should i get new wiring for the car and settle the labor cost for it, for less hassle in future..

I know the Budget is impossible, feel free to recommend or advice me on to the right path.

Thanks to all icon_rolleyes.gif

to start with... search around for a 2nd hand amps... nowadays old school stuff which sounds a lot better than the current products lines are selling dirt cheap... next, 2nd hand good true 4AWG power cables... could be found at dirt cheap price as well... DIY speaker and RCA cables using quality LAN copper cables which were like RM0.5~2/m... all these squeezable into RM500... been there done that... and results are not bad for starters but heck it does needs a lot of enthusiasm... cuz you cant see the results right away without get down and sweat yourself... and why LAN cables? because cheapo OFC cables always grow fungus inside the sleeves, LAN cables dun... this is like what amp + installs labour charge: RM450, power cable: RM100, LAN cables: RM50

as for your front speaker... this would have to see which series are you going for... good speakers dun come cheap... this you know... so the rest you should do is save up for a front speaker... but if you are really broke and need a speaker in front.. no problem, transfer the back ones to the front...

dun let your ride value determine your enthusiasm... if you are enthusiastic about the whole ICE thing... get longer cables... at least a sedan car's length... that way you could transfer everything to your new car next time with the excess length...

thats mostly the idea... along the way... you enjoy the whole process... and along the way... you understand what makes it sound better and why... and i am pretty sure you will avoid the things that doesnt aound good to you right... by common sense la that one... wink.gif smile.gif smile.gif

4awg power cables is for you to get your amp power supply from the car battery...

amp recommendations? old school amps would go for rf, soundstream, PPI, a/d/s etc etc... where to look for these amps? forum's buy sell section...

saga and stream audio... are the amps sorta in pink/blue colour with some painted/cheap emblem on? biggrin.gif biggrin.gif

difference between a good and poor amp? hehehe... well... put it this way... whats the difference between a cheap bed and a slumberland? a kancil and a mini cooperS? you get the idea? both works as as the same thing, but one is talking about quality, durability etc etc... the other one is just a car/bed/amp...

features? hmmm there is a lot... but the important thing is... reviews from the people who actually used the stuff and could prove to you the claims... and the very important stuff you should remember is: it sounds good to yourself...

Those two brands are like the real AMP outside. It don seem to be a replica or what to me. Its a metal color and silver emblem If I'm not wrong. hmm.gif

Why need to use good 4AWG power cables ?? Isn't it just to supply power ??? Then speaker cable need to change ?? Or the Ori is okay ??

Will try look through.

hmm... no comment about the amps... so i wont talk much about it la...

if dun use 4awg cables... what cables do you suggest to get your power? yea... its just to supply power... but you cant tap from the HU for you amps...

speaker cable... further save cost... ori would work fine as well... but you have to connect the wire from the amp to the ori factory speaker wires... no problem...

Yea but need to cost so high for the 4awg cable ??

Is it hard to DIY ??? can save some cost if DIY ???

My HU got only 1 RCA output but 4 channel got 2 RCA output. So what is needed to connect my HU to a 4 channel ????

Can list an estimate amount for the AMP and installation without workmanship ??

cables have their own thickness and length. measured in AWG/Ga and meters/feet. RM50 installtion kit? no idea wats inside. who knows it will melt the moment u turn it on. lol. if it's ur first time, dun DIY, better watch someone do it first before u DIY. if u have a fren dat can do this then u can ask for his help to DIY. in ICE, wat u paid is wat u get and ICE is neva cheap. smile.gif
