how about the cheaper models ranging from rm100 - 150?

how do I know that the headset will be compatible with galaxy tab?

I think most BT headsets are compatible with galaxy tab. You can consider other Jabra, iTech, BlueAnt models, best if allowed to test before purchase.

I sold off my ipad due to its limited functions/features when comes to work creation. Not only I have to buy additional apps for file management its poor keyboard editing features was a killer. Never understand why Apple with its technology cannot even come up with simple edit features in a keyboard. I bought the latest MacBook Air 11' to replace it - it is similar in size/weight but can do so much more and productive
My personal needs of a portable tablet - The Galaxy Tab scores higher than the iPAD mainly on size, weight, great portability, superb email content download ( ipad was horribly bad and terribly slow ). What I need on the ipad I can similarly do if not even better on the Tab. I need not worry about taking it out - it fits nicely inside my long pant side pockets even with the book casing on. It can be used to make phone calls and camera features is another bonus. The presence of a micro SD card makes file swapping, transfer so much easier and convenient. File management on the ipad is just too much hassle - need iTunes and for certain file formats need other supporting apps to effect transfer thro iTunes. Bought the CCK which I feel is just a waste of money and a poorly designed half baked product.
Those who like games, The Ipad I feel is still a better gaming machine due to its bigger screen, display and more apps. As I do not play games , so this is unimportant to me

Battery life is excellent - refer page 1 I did post up several reviews on battery life. Normal usage 10 hours is no problem - equally good as the ipad
New sets now extremely cheap RM 1400 to 1500 original set with3G/wireless vs RM 2699 when it was newly launch. I feel is not worth buy the WiFI only set as its CPU is lower grade, bluetooth downgraded, GPU downgraded too

A big Thank You for your insight . You were right abt the McBookAir. It sure beats wat iPad can offer and for portability , Tab is the way to go.

Abt BT headset compatible issue, I guess most low cost tat cost around rm100 should do good, any comment?

Thx

BT tech is universal ... any should be compatible.

The question to ask would be which BT headset is cheap and value for money eg. noise cancellation, good battery, long range, etc.

I have 2 headsets now, an Aliph Jawbone Icon (superb noise cancellation, not so good battery life) and a Jabra Extreme (ok noise cancellation, good battery life) - both work pretty well with both my Galaxy S and Galaxy Tab. Jawbone was almost RM400, and the Extreme was RM300. May not fit your criteria of 'cheap'.

does the jawbone/jabra show caller id on the bluetooth headset ? If yes does it show only phone number or including name ? TIA

The Jabra Extreme, no. The Jawbone Icon, yes, the voice prompt in the headset will say, 'Call from 012-123456789' when that caller calls me. No LED/LCD display on both headsets, so no caller ID display in the visual sense.

My heart shattered when I only found out about the hardware downgrade that is on the Wifi model, coz I already purchased it...

Although it is for my dad's birthday this weekend.

Of course, to a 60s, the speed and appearance must not differ much, but still...to me.. its heartbreaking.

I just hope..hopeee...and hopee..the inferiority that wifi model has, isn't so significant that comes to an extent to piss me off the moment I got my unit.

Added on May 11, 2011, 7:27 pmOh 1 more, can Galaxy tab(wifi) upgrades to 2.3? officially, I think don't have/cannot. But can it be done actually?

Any big different in term of performance between 3G Tab and WIFI tab? I also consider WIFI tab only as only use at home.

Hmmm... seems they're releasing the Gingerbread/2.3.3 (Build JQ1) for the P1000 models on the Italian front! We're waiting for it to drop... ;-)

Look's like Chainfire's got his hands on it: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1073854

As ever, it's best to let him work his magic first, as we know the latest firmwares has the locked bootloaders... so don't go flashing it yet, ok?

What's a good news i heard. However, is Gingerbread will run faster and smoother than Froyo?
I had tried Juwe 4.2, MIUI 2.3.4 and CyanogenMod 7 on my Galasy S.
Finally, i flash back to custom Froyo rom on this device.
Really disappointed with it's battey drain problem on this latest rom.
I can't even differential speed on these 2 roms.

Sometime i really don't understand the human behaver,
If ipad not a good device compare with others, why still got so many ppl willing to queue up or even overnite in front of shop in order to get this device while they launched on the first day.
This not happen in US but ALL AROUND THE WORLD included Malaysia.
Samsung galaxy Tab 10.1 willing to distribute 500 units for free on the first day they launched yesterday. Really strange!! rclxub.gif

Tab without 3g is a bit useless right ? seem our company tight with digi, contract or not is no issue for us, but with digi we can get it for RM 9XX why not ?
btw me in PG now, the cheaper pg Market i found is RM 1500, just tab and standard stuff .... not even free Screen protector .....
*
mind to share where you can get such price in pg, and is stock readily available now? i try to check in local retailer such as court, no stock, have to wait 2 week to get order...
