Bro, i think i have explained this several times. Indian cinema in overall, are not about making profits out of disc media or gadgets , merchandises etc. They, the people in India has been the main reason why this is being the case. They will watch any of their favorite films for months..hence this is why the cinema industry in India has not made to the next step which is crowning films on High Definition. Only few films managed to mark themselves among this new media category (Blu-ray). You cannot find a shop in India selling Blu-ray's although , it's been largely sold in other nations (precisely , certain part of the world). In North, it's an otherwise case.

Bollywood industry has made it to the next step largely. They have been doing this for sometime and comparing number of Hindi films made on Blu-ray and number of Tamil Blu-ray's ( you can count them). With Hindi films leading the Indian language market..Tamil blu-rays will not progress unless , film makers start looking up at outside world with Blu-ray media as major attraction.

You should have known by now that Indian films are utterly limited to the viewers. So fingers crossed bro, that in coming years, we will see more Studios , plus we need films to be made with High Definition Red Camera.

It's a wish! Wish remains as wish. For your information , since you opened up the question. There's 3 / 4 films coming right into Blu-ray in the next 8 months. So look at the number of films crowned for Blu-ray media. Its not wise to compare them with Hollywood Studios and the advanced technology in processing the films into Blu-ray media.

i started collect VCR when i was age13. i went to restaurant washed dishes every week to earned RM25 for 2 VCR. I got over 500 VCR & i throwed all away last year when i really got no space to keep it, besides, my VCR player gone.
Waah!! You must be filthy rich to own over 500 "VCRs"!!!?! hahaha.... bro, i know what u meant... "VHS" aka video tapes; just joking again... laugh.gif

Well, I started collecting movies on VHS but almost all were Jack Sparrows! They were so chunky and get degraded after a few playbacks - no complaints though knowing the price I paid for these types of quality at Petaling St.! But when I read about DVD format going to be introduced in the market & being the more superior in AV than VHS & VCD, I quickly jumped into the bandwagon. My first DVD player bought was a Panasonic back in 1998 for RM1,950!!?! doh.gif And the poison soon crept into me where I bought 1 DVD title per day the first week I owned the player! tongue.gif

At that time R1 discs cost around RM105 - RM130 (depending title/studio) bought at retailers in Sg Wang Plaza.... & R3 discs for RM89 - 99 (fixed price from Speedy's MovieMagic). These are some of the collection still lying around in boxes collecting dusts, fungus maybe.... biggrin.gif

I started collecting Blu-ray when the hi-def format war ended early 2008... my first 2 titles being The Rock & Hellboy bought @ Amazon.com and my first BD player was a PS3 40Gb; the rest are history... rclxms.gif

I switched to VCD, then DVD. I got over 1,000 DVD, and again sell/throwed/gave away nearly 500 discs. Now i left 500 good DVD titles, i still enjoyed DVD, especially thoses title not yet available in BLURAY format.

Now i am in Bluray. I just hope it will stay longer b4 i need to "waste" money again.

GOD BLESS BLURAY

I stil hv a few VHS lying ard[Babe : the sheep Pig..].. d oris dont get fungus tat easily n is even better[vdo quality] than vcd's.. problem is d pirated version is always a copied version hence deterioratin in quality each time it is duplicated..
Was not into LDs as its too expensiv n VCDS too [cos d quality is not better than VHS]
When D5/D9's came into de scene.. I went tis way .. tink got a few hundred still lyin ard..
Went BD [victor of de HD war].. Started buyin frm amz.com n tower .. 1st ttl was 5th Element n didnt hv my ps3 yet even..

As usual d latest format is d best in terms of vdo quality..

I dont tink 3d will come mainstream..thou'.. or maybe I m jus not a fan

D

urmm... this one released by Alliance; not by the official studio.... still prefer original studio (Miramax / Dimension Films) to buy from irregardless of price factor. Heard it is also bare-bones BD25 with 1080i video shakehead.gif

ya, have to highlight ALLIANCE release is not consistent, but it is selling at C$15 only! for the trilogy with good packing.

http://www.amazon.ca/Scream-Franchise-Collection-Blu-ray

do not overestimate the big studio release. FROM DUSK TILL DAWN US Dimension release is far worse than my ALLIANCE release. icon_rolleyes.gif

extracted from AMZ CANADA CUSTOMER'S REVIEW:
The packaging impressed me on this release. It comes in a nice sturdy slipsleeve with the artwork embossed in shiny red against a nice blue background. The discs (3 total) are all housed in a dual foldout cardboard packaging inside, with disc one on the left side of the foldout and discs 2 & 3 are housed one on top of the other on the right side.
All 3 movies come on individual BD25 discs and are all 'barebones' - no trailers, or features whatsoever, so hang on those SE DVDs if you still need to have the Special Features.
However, video is quite nice, the package indicates 1080i, but I cannot confirm. There appears to be grain present and ALL three movies come in the OAR of 2.35:1.
A little surprise for me came as I also discovered that all 3 movies come with audio flavors in English 5.1 DTS HD-MA, and 5.1 DD (note that the back of the box only claims DD 5.1).
Until there is another truly definitive release of this trilogy, for both audio and picture quality, and for the price makes it an easy upgrade.
