i started collect VCR when i was age13. i went to restaurant washed dishes every week to earned RM25 for 2 VCR. I got over 500 VCR & i throwed all away last year when i really got no space to keep it, besides, my VCR player gone.

I switched to VCD, then DVD. I got over 1,000 DVD, and again sell/throwed/gave away nearly 500 discs. Now i left 500 good DVD titles, i still enjoyed DVD, especially thoses title not yet available in BLURAY format.

Now i am in Bluray. I just hope it will stay longer b4 i need to "waste" money again.

DHL made "THE CALL" at 10.05 this morning
JOHNBLURAYLOVER driving "Fast & furious" to BANDAR PERDAH, meet "A FEW GOOD FINAS MEN" & obtained the FINAS licence at 12.30pm & gone back to work in 60 seconds
At 2.15 JOHN will scan & email the FINAS to DHL.

hopefully before the weekend John will received 4 steelbook to enjoy.

some scary info -
normally the CUSTOM inspection is to open the packing box & checking the disc cover wihout actually open the plastic shield.
somehow PENANG CUSDOM at DHL actually open the case & took out the disc! i don't know why, i suspect they actually watch the movi.
so , the new item we bought from AMZ CANADA actually being used already by our CUSDOM?

I have a question. It may sound rather unwise.Does the digital copy provided with the Blu-ray pack any use for any of you? Does it impose illegal issue if it were to be sold separately? Taking into consideration many iPhone users are actually having the digital copy in their devices. Does it goes as legal since it uses iTunes account to transfer and i understand most of the iPhone's are "JB" version?

I find the Digital Copy is rather shrewd move for those having high end mobile devices and not for those whose having low tech phones? What's the major impact on legalizing digital copies and it could lead to conspiracy of piracy?

Guys,  I need super quick advice from you.

Recently bought a boxset from Amazon which contains 3 movies. Apparently one of the case broken when I received. Nothing wrong with the movie (disc) - only the blue case got broken.

Contacted Amazon and they claimed that they can't send me an empty case. They can only give me 2 option - full refund of the boxset or send replacement for the entire boxset

Err...I told them that there is nothing wrong with the paper boxset - only the blue plastic case got broken in one of the movie. I felt that it will be pretty unfair if they have to replace the whole boxset whereby I am only complaining that one of the bluecase got broken.

They are waiting for my reply - how, how, how?

Crap, the 2 Disc diamond edition is more the sufficient to enjoy this animation on Hi-Def

I think that guy forgot to mention that all his BDs are gold plated and the box casing comes with life-time warranty on water, theft and fire. Or maybe we should look at the hidden print - buy BDs free BD player or something like that!!

Trying to buy BDs from Amazon Canada. Apparently choosing the Standard International Shipping - it was mentioned that they need to that 30-40 weeks to delivered - WOW that is more than half a year baru sampai!

Anybody can share your experience shipping from Canada and the cost - it is better than Amazon US?

How many of you trust eBay when comes to buying Blu-ray?

i don't trust them by solely based on their reviews or ratings... because transactions are between individuals; especially if there's no after-sales customer service assurance like Amazon. dats just my take...

I think The Green Hornet 3D is selling at RM150.00 while the Tron 3D is selling at RM169.90.

But this Tron I got from Amazon US comes with 3 discs (3D, 2D, and DVD) + digital copy and somemore so much cheaper than Malaysian stores.

So for 3D titles, definitely you'll get much more savings buying from Amazon than from the local 'potong' shops.

The title of that BD doesn't stated its Region Free, but if you click to read details & description, its stated as All Regions. Confusing....

some sharing/analysis on the freight cost:

i always chhose the cheapest mode, my ranking as below:

1 - AMZ UK - Cheapest, average GBP1.80/unit for 8 units & above - AMZ UK refund 17% of VAT, if your disc is around GBP10, the VAT refund is good enough to cover your freight. choose the box set, eg. BORNE TRILOGY 3 disc at GBP17, VAT refund is around GBP2.5 & freight is only GBD1.8 for 3 disc, so u actually paid less, usually arrived within 10 days. no custom nor finas

2 - AMZ GERMAN - EURO14/SHIPMENT - so don't just buy 1 or 2 disc, try 7 disc, average EURO2/DISC, usually arrived within 2 weeks. AMZ GERMAN disc $ is cheaper than AMZ France

3 - AMZ US - average U$4.70/disc for 8 disc & above - slow speed if AMZ US use IPARCEL

4 - AMZ CANADA - tricky one, average cost is C$4/disc for 5 disc & above, but if AMZ canada use normal post, the espected delivery time is around 90 days. so far we are lucky to enjoy DHL 1st class by paying normal freight cost, however, we need to visit FINAS if u are in PENANG.

5 - AMZ FRANCE - most expensive - EURO5/disc for 4 disc & above - usually arrived in 2 weeks

after buying from all 5 above, i love UK the most, i believe the package is direct from UK to Penang without going to KL 1st, it saved at least 1 week.

AMZ US is 2nd chooice, original disc packing, good quality, but will wait for sales season. sometimes it took 50 days to arrive

AMZ CANADA is for cool steelbook, same zone a with amz us
AMZ DE is for cool packing,
AMZ France is for some weird/available titles.

u can buy from lowyat garage sales if u always buy in small quantity. the $ is not much dif after u included the freight/risk/time for waiting

my understanding the custom will random open the parcel and check even ur total package is under RM500 ...

Some concerts for example Slipknot no bluray even last year release & Metallica In Mexico got BD but not full.

MOvies  The Boys are Back-Clive Owen & Everybody's Fine-Robert De Niro , both are release on DVD last year and re-release on DVD again this year. Weird still no BD
