Btw i have a question. I took PTPTN loan for my degree, and the total interest is around 13 to 14k (15 year loan). Is this amount deductable? I declared my 2009 income tax already, and wonder if the interest is deductable? I heard it is.

QUOTE(Eden @ Mar 3 2010, 05:28 PM) If you are talking about petrol allowance from home to work, then yes, it is tax exempted up to RM2.4k per annum. However for official use, it is tax exempted up to RM6k per annum.QUOTE(Neonlight @ Mar 3 2010, 08:07 PM) Guys, I am having my own business from January this year hence i already registered for income tax. Is my deadline April or June 30th? Those with business income should be the June 30th deadline. |

Be sure that your total annual income has not yet minus the transport allowance maximum coz sometimes HR dept already considered the allowance and did not add in into the total annual income like leongal mentioned (they put under part G), do your own calculation to confirm. Bonuses also go into total annual income.Added on March 4, 2010, 11:27 am QUOTE(static @ Mar 3 2010, 09:34 PM) Btw i have a question. I heard it is. never heard bout the loan interest deductible, at the moment only interest on housing loan is deductible..correct me if i'm wrong. The degree fees are deductible if you did it in 2009, up to a maximum value of rm5k. Others deductible if you open SSPN account up to rm3K and also if you have any education insurans. This post has been edited by attahun: Mar 4 2010, 11:27 AM |
