After reading this thread, I went through my previous tax assessment. I realised I missed filling up one portion - donation. May I know if donation to an old folks home or salvation army or MAKNA, is it filled under C8A? And, if the payment is through Maybank2u (for MAKNA) can it be used to claim for tax relief?

@acougan Thanks for the reply. It seem for old folks home and salvation army homes, there is a list of addresses which are 'accepted' for tax exampt. I have contacted MAKNA, hope they will mail me the receipt soon This post has been edited by guanteik: Jan 23 2010, 04:21 PM

@ShinAsuka Go to the nearest LHDN, photostat your IC and payslip and request for Income Tax Number. If there is no PCB on your salary slip, normally they will tell that you do not need to apply for one. For the time being, tell your HR that you have not gotten your income tax number but will inform them when you got it.

@lostasylum It depends on your business complexity. If you have large business, you would want to try those large firm like PWC, Deloitte...
Else, any freelance can do it for you...

@Eden Your KWSP & Insurance will share a portion of max 6K. However, if you have maxed out ur KWSP, you may transfer the Insurance portion to your wife.

QUOTE(deodorant @ Mar 14 2010, 12:04 AM) Thanks. Just clarified this with my HR as well and the amount they put in there was basically all my claims - travel, petrol, etc etc, that isn't income and so isn't supposed to be taxed. Finished my e-Filing! Getting a small 200-bucks return of tax this year, yay! @deodorant I believed we are over-taxed for year 2009 so mostly will get refunded.

@babymiki You should get a confirmation mailed to you when you first opened your tax profile at KWSP office. Else, a call to them will be good.

QUOTE(keeseng12 @ Mar 17 2010, 08:24 PM) just received a letter from LHDN, but very funny thing, the letter was dropped into the drain, my neighbor told me that. Dug it out and open it, the letter says that i still need to pay extra RM100++ even though my BE letter that i've just submitted lately saying that i've overpaid and i should be getting the money back from them instead of giving them. Pissed off at the moment. I mean why the discrepancies? Any idea on how to go about this? Go to LHDN to dig out my file? @keeseng12 Did they mention which year you owe?

QUOTE(keeseng12 @ Mar 17 2010, 08:48 PM) the letter was soaked with drain water. it was saying something related to 2008. but in year 2008, i paid everything. i say the "Jumlah pendapatan untuk dicukai" is even different from my BE form (for this year). @keeseng12, It could be in year 2008 or years before that. The problem with LHDN is whenever we make a payment, they never acknowledge that e.g. sending a notice of payment received to the tax payer. It's very common to see this happens around. BTW, if you have paid in year 2008, probably what you can do is print and bring the payment statement to them. It might help.

@StupidZ Since your 2008 bonus payout is at 2009 it would have stated in the 2009 BE/B form. Bonus <> Dividend so don't fill it in that column.

QUOTE(wennew @ Apr 11 2010, 07:17 PM) Hi everyone, i wanna ask about the taxable public mutual fund income. 1. for the taxable income, should be declare under C2 dividend OR C6 apa- apa perolehan atau keuntungan? 2. as i am not taxable and for the refund of the mutual fund income, should be declare under E 10 Tolakan cukai seksyen 54 akta kewangan 2007(dividen) OR E11 Tolakan cukai seksyen 110(lain-lain) thanks @wennew For Public Mutual distribution, file it under "Apa-apa perolehan atau keuntungan lain" for Taxable Income. "Tolakan cukai seksyen 110 (lain-lain)" for Malaysian Tax. QUOTE(distributor @ Apr 12 2010, 01:10 AM) Still confuse. For the Public mutual dividen - Shall i put in HK3 or E10/E11 column? @distributor E11. Refer to my explanation on the top.

@Eng_Tat It all depends on what has been declared in your BE form. You still need to declare your income even you do not need to pay.

@keith_hjinhoh 1. You need to declare your income even you are not taxable (or even after the RM350 rebate). 2. Yes, you need to declare your previous income. There is a portion called "Previous years income which have not been declared" for you to fill your previous income.
