Note: If your tax rate reach to HIGH LEVEL, you can consider following expense to earn % you pay,
1. Parent medical exp, medical check up, EPF, life insurance, medical insurance, sport equipment.
2. PTPTN - Max RM3000 (i.e. RM250/mth). You can earn % on tax + PTPTN interest % = total %.
3. Computer - claim one time every 3 years.
Note: If your tax rate at LOW LEVEL, you shd declare dividend income, because tax on the dividend can get back by declare it.

So, the PTPTN is the same as other study fees?

Education fee is education fee

PTPTN is referring to SSPN.

QUOTE(daron @ Apr 18 2011, 10:30 AM)
for the housing loan interest, do we claim the interest charged or interest paid?
I am asking this because my loan started in midyear, so barely got to rm10k. The statement cuts off at Dec 2010 but the payment for december is in January. So say the last payment is 2k. Do i claim 8k (paid in 2010 although i did pay for the Dec in Jan 2011) or 10k (interests charged in 2010)?

Anyone knows? I tried calling IRB but the lines can't get thru anyone.

my scenario: apartment rental starts from 15/11/2010.

therefore, would it be right I if I calculate my rental income for the YR2010 as below?

Gross rental income = rental for Nov + Dec 2010
minus the followings:
1. home loan interest from Nov + Dec 2010
2. quit rent for Year 2010
3. assessment for Year 2010 - please advice if I can claim in full or divide the annual total amount by 12 and multiply by 2 (to count in the 2 months rental that I have received for 2010)?

thank you,
Jade

why on earth did you file in the first place without your EA form from your second employer? doh.gif

anyway no such thing as deep shyt one lah, you not intentionally evading tax no need to hide head in ground just go to tax office and explain, recalculate correct amount then pay whatever excess lor.

I think it would be appropriate to less off only the 2 months from your total assessment.
However, I may be wrong. I'm not sure about that.

Hi,

I m new in e-filing, now I m using e-filing for my tax. After compute, it seem that I need to pay tax on my income. So, I pay my tax via Public bank using PBB-IRB bank-in-slip together with CP 501. My question is do I need to send a copy of bank-in-slip to IRB to prove the payment via courier/mail since I had submited my Borong BE via internet.

Don't think so. I'm pretty sure you just need to keep your bank in slip.

You can fill the normal BE form for individual. Since you are tax exempted for now, I presumed that your registration is to register tax account for future. Is it correct?

My fren wife who works in LHDn said that no need to register if you are fall in tax exempted category based on your income. This is of cos they dont want extra work actually:). I declared my earnings last 2 years even though none of it can be taxed but 2010 I already kena. Just prepare for the future cool2.gif

does business income need to be banked in to current account? or can be cash at hand?

because I understand that in order to quality for tax exemption for business expense, the purchase has to come from business income

meaning
monday - bank in income to current account
friday - bought something for company

then the thing will qualify for tax exemption

I mentioned earlier that first e-filing tax payer can register online... well this is for those already with tax number. As for those without tax number, you have to go to the nearest tax department to fill a form and get your tax number before you can do e-filing. Sorry for the mistakes. notworthy.gif
