Added on September 13, 2011, 10:49 pmGuys, just curious. Aybody here not using a screen protector on Bold 9900? Is the screen scratch resistant? I remember seeing a debate on crackberry about Bold 9900 using gorilla glass.

I had a friend using 9900 for almost a month without screen protector,he quite rough guy, never take care of his phone very well, but the phone never drop before, till now the lcd window dont have any single scratch....previously he is using e5 and full with scratches within the same period.

this is what he told me ytd...

IMO, the glass/window of 9900 quite thick compared to 9700/9780 hmm.gif

yeah..well when i tried out 9810 it's actually lighter than 9800, so it feels quite good. Actually for price / feature ratio, 9810 is a better buy!

I prefer 9810 too, the only reason i drop it and get 9900 is just because of my fat fingers.
I played > 30min both 9900 and 9810 at the shop and the sales rep face was black because dragging too much time and there was only 1x 9900 and 1x 9810 at that time and other customer not able to try it.

Typing at 9810 has more error compared to 9900 because of the keyboard size. Just 5mm difference but that make the difference. Keyboard touch also better on 9900.
9900 has much better LCD than 9810 if put side by side compare.
9810 bigger LCD size is really nice.
9810 screen lock button too easy to trigger accidentally.
9810 no pouch (?)
9810 USB port is a bit low and not comfortable to hold and talk while charging.
9810 trackpad is not the same level with keyboard, will have little bit trouble for finger to travel more distance during intensive use of both trackpad and keyboard.
9810 trackpad is far enough from the LCD, so the problem of 'accidentally' activating the touch screen while using trackpad won't happen like 9900. heard that 9900 has firmware update to solve this issue.
9810 has AF camera! ohh man 9900...

Again, my stupid fingers force me to take 9900 else my choice will be 9810.

Was on .353 on my 9900 too. Now also on .353 on the 9810. I just noticed, there's no 9810 'official' thread in LYN. Hmm, you guys don't mind my lurking in here instead I hope.

does 9900 comes in black color, as in the whole device completely black without the metal color on the sides?

Battery report on my 9810. 1 hour or so of active usage and the phone is down to 55% at 2pm (left charger at 7am).

Need to hunt for an extended capacity batt. Anyone care to share his/her experience with Sun Global's 1800/1850mah batteries on their previous BB models?

Every time I pick up my 9900 it makes me want to cry.

What bloody beautiful, well-crafted and sexy-as-Kayla-Varley masterpiece this is.

Not to mention the brilliantly optimised keypads, a touchscreen that is as responsive as Bruce Wayne's trusty ol' butler Alfred, a screen that illuminates my dull life and the fast-as-f*** processor.

Construction-wise, it is the most sturdy, uncompromising and tough Blackberry I've ever come across. It delivers a perfect balance between subtle sexiness (think Katie White / Julia Stone) and hard-as-Vinny Jones durability.

Seriously, iPhone/Android users can have all the fun they want with their apps-laden toy. At the end of the day, all I want is just a phone that allows me to communicate with the world in the most efficient, enjoyable and stimulating way possible.

Blackberry Bold 9900, I think you're a gift from God.

yup, .261.

the os5 tones are definitely not there at factory settings. however, i did install the tones later on, but a wipe from BBSAK should wipe the phone thoroughly and wipe the tones as well. but when i reload OS after the wipe, i still have the tones. funny....
