QUOTE(thinktankz @ Aug 29 2011, 09:43 AM) Haih... Celcom plan is ready. DiGi plan is ready.. Waiting for Maxis plan to grab 9900 to replace my aging 9700. Emailed Maxis customer care twice. 1 time, the usual reply template, "we'll keep you posted", the 2nd time Maxis customer care called and said, "we'll keep you posted... Sorry sir, we do not have an ETA yet, when to unit will be available." Hahaha... Go figure. This post has been edited by netbeans: Aug 30 2011, 02:41 AM

Haih... I personally do not like to disable 3G. That's the reason I buy a phone with 3G capability.
Hope RIM is working on a permanent solution.

QUOTE(kmrdeva @ Sep 3 2011, 09:37 PM) I don't see how RIM can make the 1230mah battery do miracles. I wouldn't mind a thicker custom / 3rd party battery, 1500-2000mah would be nice. For now, I am considering a spare ori batt or to be on 2g all the time. Yeah.. Should invest on a 2nd batt then..

QUOTE(kmrdeva @ Sep 4 2011, 03:37 PM) No lag that I can notice, not sure what the article writer is referring to. On 2g battery is more than enough for me to last a whole day without recharging (3g is ok for 10 plus hours only). The 9900 is the fastest phone I have ever used, seriously. Not even my Galaxy Tab (7) or Galaxy S running Cyanogenmod7 is as quick, and the keyboard shortcuts of the 9900 are very useful and handy. QUOTE(Similan @ Sep 4 2011, 03:46 PM) Didn't experience any lags so far. it's speedy and behaves fine as a phone. like i always say, battery life doesn't bother me too much as long as it can last 8 - 10 hours. there are ways to overcome it like spare batteries, additional chargers etc. it uses microUSB charge so the chargers are quite cheap. I haven't get hold of 9900 yet. Still contemplating either to wait for the Maxis plan or port to Celcom. It's a relief to see all the positive comments; bar the 'small capacity' batt issue.

Hmmm.... Looks like the key to long lasting batt life for 9900 is to disable 3G.

QUOTE(LiteBulb @ Sep 8 2011, 04:01 PM) .... ..... maybe they are no longer accepting registration of interest. perhaps they are launching it Not sure. Maybe yes. Maybe no. Calls to customer service didn't really address my query. Simple answer with template "we will inform u as soon as we know".

QUOTE(zellleonhart @ Sep 9 2011, 09:38 PM) ^ Sometimes BB's QC is bad especially trackpad. Two friends of mine bought curve 3G, both brightstar set from umobile. First set, the trackpad is too loose, it moves even though you're not touching it. Second set, the trackpad is not sensitive enough, need to scroll like mad but the cursor only move a little.. Having said that my bold 9780 is perfectly fine... So it really depends on your luck. I guess because the QC was based on randomly selecting which unit to test. But then again, I could be wrong. My wife's 9780 keypad is ultra sensitive. Every time she types, each letter will be repeated at least twice. Sent to Brightstar, for servicing, still the same. But hey, now she managed to adjust to just slightly touch the keys to type. She called it slide typing.

QUOTE(xortz @ Sep 10 2011, 11:09 AM) guys, which is valued more for money? Buy B9900 full in cash or Buy B9900 with telco's contract. I'm in the same dilemma.

QUOTE(Similan @ Sep 10 2011, 02:02 PM) Certainly wt contract is better. Got subsidy price. Even if u choose cheapest contract thr is still some savings even though not so much as android devices. But...but...but... Waiting for Maxis plan takes forever. Kenot tahan.... I'm torn between waiting for Maxis plan, port to Celcom or buy a Brightstar unit This post has been edited by netbeans: Sep 11 2011, 02:01 AM

QUOTE(kmrdeva @ Sep 13 2011, 05:34 PM) .... .... Am getting a new 9810 later this evening, btw. Will likely sell off the 9900 and stick with the 9810 as it uses the same batt as the 9800 and there is an extended batt option for this model type already Wish me luck, guys! A bit lost here bro. You are eligible for a 9900 replacement, but you bought a 9810 or Brightstar gave a 9810?

DiGi is the cheapest, but coverage not so comprehensive. Celcom is affordable, and coverage is quite comprehensive.
Maxis is the most expensive. It is joke that Maxis put up the plan!
