Spoke to a mgmt guy at Brightstar Pg today, it was a good call. He advised that a 2 week old failed 9900 should be eligible for a new unit replacement and has promised to look into my case and push for a quicker resolution.

Am getting a new 9810 later this evening, btw. Will likely sell off the 9900 and stick with the 9810 as it uses the same batt as the 9800 and there is an extended batt option for this model type already smile.gif Wish me luck, guys!

Thanks. Got my 9810 already and also met the very nice Brightstar channel manager face to face. First 9810 had hairline scratches and he called his office to bring a 2nd unit to my friend's shop. 2nd unit all good. smile.gif

Anyone interested in soon to come replacement unit of 9900? whistling.gif whistling.gif

A bit lost here bro. You are eligible for a 9900 replacement, but you bought a 9810 or Brightstar gave a 9810?

1st reason - Couldn't wait for the new 9900 unit so I bought a 9810 - just imagine that I was so hard up for a qwerty phone that I nearly bought the Nokia E6.

2nd reason - I know there are extended batt options for the 9810 since it is identical to the older 9800 and the battery is the same so I think I will keep the 9810 and sell off the 9900 when the replacement comes.

i dealt with the manager before too. he's a nice guy.

but seriously..going for the 9810?? tongue.gif i went from 9780 to 9800..and i feel like i might like 9900 because have to keep sliding up and down. However, the torch feels more like a solid device because it is heavier tongue.gif

can't wait to hear batt life stories from u regarding 9810 biggrin.gif

Well, I've never owned a Torch before so this is the best time to try tongue.gif The 9810 is not as sexy as the 9900, but it still feels pretty good in the hand.

So far, I am liking the bigger screen (same 640x480 res as the 9900 though) and the body of the phone is pretty solid if a bit thick. The keyboard is nowhere close to the shiokness of the 9900's keyboard (or the old 9000 for that matter) but I think I can get used to it.

Will feedback battery life after a few days with 3G soon. biggrin.gif

DiGi is the cheapest, but coverage not so comprehensive. Celcom is affordable, and coverage is quite comprehensive.

Maxis is the most expensive. It is joke that Maxis put up the plan!

yeah..well when i tried out 9810 it's actually lighter than 9800, so it feels quite good. Actually for price / feature ratio, 9810 is a better buy!

Added on September 13, 2011, 10:49 pmGuys, just curious. Aybody here not using a screen protector on Bold 9900? Is the screen scratch resistant? I remember seeing a debate on crackberry about Bold 9900 using gorilla glass.
