I don't see how RIM can make the 1230mah battery do miracles. I wouldn't mind a thicker custom / 3rd party battery, 1500-2000mah would be nice. For now, I am considering a spare ori batt or to be on 2g all the time.

Yeah.. Should invest on a 2nd batt then..  cry.gif

For now I've checked with various suppliers. None in sight yet.

I might be going to Singapore soon. Will check if there's any and update here.

Update us potential buyers about it then. If the battery life really can't make it through a day then I think I'll resort to the 9810 or the 9780. Everything with the 9900 seems to be perfect except for the battery life!

Same here. I rather charge more often than to be on EDGE only.

But my 9900's battery life is real bad, even worse than my Torch 9800 whom I thought was bad.

Unplug at 830am and by 5pm I'm down to about 20%.

Of course, my phone calls are quite heavy during that duration.

how much worse do u feel it is? i'm using torch too...i find the battery mediocre although by the time i get home theres at least 20-30% left at around 8pm

3G is definitely a battery sucker, even for any other BB phones. I've tried on Curve 3G and it only lasts for half day with 3G mode (WiFi off). Even on Bold 9700 and 9000, it only lasts for 1.5 days with 3G mode.

Using DiGi and 3G network is terrible at my home and workplace.

Not recommended to use 3G unless you really need e.g. when surfing web etc.

don't know bout you guys, but i'm getting alot of hour glass loading on my 9900. i migrated my data and apps from 9780 to 9900, is that the reason why?

happens alot when i pull my berry out from my holster. i'll have to wait for at least 30 secs for the hour glass to finish loading.

Don't transfer data n apps from 9780 to 9900. Use protect for backup n restore. Install new n fresh apps from appworld...

Nop, it doesn't look normal. Probably you can try uninstalling whatsapp, do a "battery pull" and reinstall the app again.

If you are only having such problem when accessing whatsapp, it is very likely to be an application bug.

Is your phone warrantied by Brightstar? If yes, then you need to go there.

after i re-install whatsapp from OTA and did a battery pull, i dont have the same problem until the next day...... rclxub.gif rclxub.gif rclxub.gif

do i really have to bring it back to Brightstar?

Will they change 1 to 1 on the spot i wonder?

Any idea?

So, aren't you having any problem until now?

It depends. If they can see the problem and it looks more like a hardware related problem, they MAY change with a new one. Sometimes depends on luck too.

No lag that I can notice, not sure what the article writer is referring to. On 2g battery is more than enough for me to last a whole day without recharging (3g is ok for 10 plus hours only). The 9900 is the fastest phone I have ever used, seriously. Not even my Galaxy Tab (7) or Galaxy S running Cyanogenmod7 is as quick, and the keyboard shortcuts of the 9900 are very useful and handy.

Didn't experience any lags so far. it's speedy and behaves fine as a phone.
like i always say, battery life doesn't bother me too much as long as it can last 8 - 10 hours.
there are ways to overcome it like spare batteries, additional chargers etc.

it uses microUSB charge so the chargers are quite cheap.

I haven't get hold of 9900 yet. Still contemplating either to wait for the Maxis plan or port to Celcom. rclxub.gif rclxub.gif

It's a relief to see all the positive comments; bar the 'small capacity' batt issue.

No device is perfect. As long as the weak points are not showstoppers, we can always find solutions or at the very least, some workarounds..

Will do later when I get back.

No lags in my 9900. Very speedy device indeed!

Maybe a firmware update will improve the batt life.

On a side note, disabling NFC does improve the batt life a little bit.

Wow, threads are merged. Thanks sonyclie77.

Although I'm still somewhat conservative with merging. Too many threads merged into one will cause confusion when someone reads the pages from the start. laugh.gif

Owai-, sonyclie77 got a 9900? Where are your older Bold and Torch?
