QUOTE(chokey84 @ Aug 29 2011, 05:45 AM) u can see the different here bro.. Torch 9810 can also do HD video recording. The main differences that I could see is the auto focus on 9810 which 9900 does not have and NFC in 9900 that 9810 does not have. bold 4 vs torch 2 the proc: 1.2GHz (bold 4 QC 8655 | torch 2 normal) video capture: (bold 4 720p | torch 2 normal) camera: 5mp (bold 4 fixed focus | torch 2 auto focus) weight: (bold 4 130g | torch 2 161g) batt cap: (bold 4 1230mAh | torch 2 1300mAh) Spec in GSMarena can be wrong sometimes. I am the one who corrected their mistake when they said Bold 9900 has auto-focus. |

QUOTE(finch! @ Aug 31 2011, 04:12 AM) Battery life is bad compared to 9780 or even 9700. Quite a disappointment. To add more, the camera's rubbish. But I don't use the camera that much anyway. No higher capacity battery for this phone yet. However, you can use mobile charger e.g. Eneloop or Yoobao where you can use to charge your phone no matter where you are.Anyone know where can I get extended battery for 9900? Maybe ximax brand? 1800mAH should be good! |

QUOTE(kirushiru @ Sep 1 2011, 05:50 PM) i just bought bb9900..... and when i wanna reply ppl via whatsapp........ the screen goes black out often and blink few times before i could reply..... while the led indicator is blinking...... is this normal i wonder? Nop, it doesn't look normal. Probably you can try uninstalling whatsapp, do a "battery pull" and reinstall the app again. Added on August 31, 2011, 5:50 pmam thinking should i bring it back to DiGi or blacberry centre straight...... smile.gif This post has been edited by kirushiru: Yesterday, 05:50 PM If you are only having such problem when accessing whatsapp, it is very likely to be an application bug. Is your phone warrantied by Brightstar? If yes, then you need to go there. |

QUOTE(kirushiru @ Sep 1 2011, 06:11 PM) apparently it does not happen to whatsapp only, even when i reply text messages...... same thing happens...... it does not happen everytime, but still, it does annoy me esp when i cant reply when i wanted to, i have gotta wait for like 30 secs or else the screen goes blackout, and when i press any key, even the button that lock/unlock, the whole phone is not responding, only the LED indicator still blinking...... Although you bought it from DiGi, it can be under warranty from Brightstar as they are the official distributor in Malaysia. However, there are cases where DiGi got their BlackBerry phones from local supplier e.g. PDAExpert.i bought it via Digi........ =( You need to check from your warranty card (or sticker on the phone, near battery) on who is the warranty provider and get there. You can also go to DiGi (not retail shops but DiGi centres) and pass it to them but it will take longer to get your phone fixed because they are just a middle men. |

QUOTE(Secret Hunter @ Sep 2 2011, 02:51 PM) Celcom or Digi for BB, which is better? I'm always around KL/PJ area. I would suggest you to use your current telco if you are happy with it. DiGi is a little risky where at some places, you almost can't access the internet even on EDGE mode. Their network has got a little bad recently but luckily, my area is still OK on EDGE (3G is gone case). If Celcom, I will get RM138 package, if Digi, I will get RM68+10+30 package? which 1 guys? Celcom is better in coverage, while Digi? How about the speed of the internet and its connection?? Thanks If you are looking for a cheaper option, then DiGi might fit into your plan. |

QUOTE(mengsuan @ Sep 3 2011, 03:58 PM) I came to realise the presence of another Bold 9900 thread (https://forum.lowyat.net/topic/1836164) One thread for 9900 will be the best. We can then discuss there about different telcos.Would everyone prefer to have one thread for 9900 or possibly one for every telco like Celcom 9900, DiGi 9900, Maxis 9900, U Mobile 9900, Tunetalk 9900? |

3G is definitely a battery sucker, even for any other BB phones. I've tried on Curve 3G and it only lasts for half day with 3G mode (WiFi off). Even on Bold 9700 and 9000, it only lasts for 1.5 days with 3G mode.
Using DiGi and 3G network is terrible at my home and workplace. Not recommended to use 3G unless you really need e.g. when surfing web etc. |

QUOTE(kirushiru @ Sep 4 2011, 01:09 PM) after i re-install whatsapp from OTA and did a battery pull, i dont have the same problem until the next day...... So, aren't you having any problem until now?do i really have to bring it back to Brightstar? Will they change 1 to 1 on the spot i wonder? Any idea? It depends. If they can see the problem and it looks more like a hardware related problem, they MAY change with a new one. Sometimes depends on luck too. |

QUOTE(kirushiru @ Sep 11 2011, 12:23 PM) BB9900 should come with A-gps right? A-GPS is a feature for the satellite to detect your location faster. For this, your phone will access the internet. when i tried to use it, they only provide written directions...... anyone know how to enable the A-gps function? As for the written direction thing, you will find an option to view on map. |

QUOTE(kirushiru @ Sep 11 2011, 01:04 PM) Not sure if this is a stupid question to ask, but, I need to know if it could function like those normal GPS out there where they could tell us when to turn etc? Voice navigation? Google maps for BB and BlackBerry maps definitely don't have this feature. You may want to search for 3rd party GPS softwares. I couldn't recommend one because I can't think of any for BB. something like the gps speaks to us when we need to turn in 50m ahead? etc? QUOTE(xpresside @ Sep 11 2011, 01:16 PM) +1 |
