Tell her it's called administration fee, not service charge.

Don't always believe what the CS tells you. The best way to check for yourself is to do a transaction and check the actual exchange rate vs a reference online rate. The actual rate will be higher.

Why don't you use a previous transaction and compare against the historical rate for that date? Then you'll see.

Don't argue lah ... there's a fee charged on top of the exchange rate.
Like the folks said ... make a comparison between the daily rate and the exchange rate imposed on you. You'll see it.

If there's no fee then wouldn't you think all of us here will suddenly make a jump to Citibank (or whatever bank) that does that charge that fee ? And we would also change our recommendations to the card to be used while overseas ?

You will see a RM50 credited to your account on your 2nd bill. I got mine already.

But Im guessing it is only for the first year. I also simply apply because the salesman said got GST waiver and easily can approve to get a platinum card.

That day I went to Overtime wanted to whip out my HSBC Amanah Plat but then I thought sure cannot go through so I used my other card.
Anyone here managed to use an Amanah card at drinking place?

I managed to swipe my HSBC Amanah Plat at 3 different drinking place. tongue.gif

Dear all HSBC Amanah credit card holders,

please take note, there is a credit card insurance applied by default on your card under the description of

TAKAFUL CARDS PROTECTOR

Please go and call the call centre to cancel it because I got charged RM39.56 for no good reason. There goes all my cashback for spending RM6k this month. Seriously pissing me off..

If you want to know what is it about
https://www.hsbcamanah.com.my/1/2/amanah/pe...cards-protector

its basically another hidden insurance policy enforced on the credit cardholder by default.
*
I've got charged for it too. Called to complain but they need you to submit in writing to their HQ. Wrote a complain letter to them and request for cancellation and reverse the charges. Took them 2 weeks to cancel and another month more to reverse the charges.

No one here can provide you a 100% accurate answer, so best if you contact their CS for confirmation.

Wow, a reputable bank but apply dirty tricks? Can bank negara do anything if we were to complain? Perhaps those who already got the reimbursement can forward all the communication details to bank negara and let them have a look.

It's not a dirty trick. This is why you need to go through everything yourself before putting your signature on anything. In the printed HSBC credit card application form, there are two places where you are asked to sign on. One for the bank and another one for this CPP insurance. Those who are charged RMxx.xx/month for this CPP insurance is because you signed twice on the application form.

HSBC Amanah quite desperate for new CC user? i c they still use the 6% CB Plat card to entice ppl (which expire 31-12-2011). when i ask them back "this offer not expire already? still got?" they tell me "the CB % pending for upgrade" laugh.gif

i find HSBC amanah quite stingy with their CL.
Both my Gold HSBC and Amex got higher CL than my Plat HSBC Amanah. and i apply my AMEX before all the increment sweat.gif
so they still based on my old salary for the AMEX

Most likely due to the fact that you are already an existing customer.

Expired. I think the only card that can get discount is the Starbucks membership card.

hey guys,

new HSBC card user here. I just wanna ask, i got two cards, one mastercard and one visa. So far only using master.

I dont have HSBC account, apart from credit card. And as of now i'm actively using maybank2u and eonbank (my salary credited here).

Is there any way i can do online payment from maybank2u or eon bank to hsbc. I've scoured every pages of maybank2u. Find one but not sure what to put in recipient's name though credit card payment option is there.

Anyone care to help? Dont prefer going to the branch to pay as i live in nilai and the nearest branch would be in puchong and seremban

Will bank inform the applicant application status? Either successful or unsuccessful.

yes you can. For Maybank2u, it's under the Interbank GIRO part.

You can put your HSBC CC under the Favourite Interbank GIRO Transfer. that makes payment a lot easier.
