I"m newbie anything OC but got ineteested while reading this forum.
I have a Intel P4 630 Prescott LGA775 Also,i'm using a I-cute casing with 450w PSU. MY mobo is the MSI PM8MV-2 Can I still oc the CPU abit more? I wanna get the most out of it.. |

QUOTE(styloe @ Jan 3 2006, 07:49 AM) How come ES processor cant OC much than the normal ones? ES is a short form of an engineering sample for those who have no idea what it means. Basically the difference between ES and the retail is just simply the capability to play with the multipliers. Or in other words, the multiplier is not locked, so the more straightforwardly it's for you to optimize your settings. So there will not be any case where "my processor is holding me down, so I can't get the full potential of my TCCD". ES is better in terms of more GHz doesn't exist in my book, but in terms of optimizing yes indeed. Maybe what you have heard is basically ES is better in terms of optimization of settings. |

Could u be more specific by wat do ya mean by "optimization" there..thnx much appreciate it.sorry to trouble u.. Im still learning ere |

QUOTE(xjian1985 @ Jan 2 2006, 12:29 AM) want to ask that every CPU hv maximum clock speed that can operate?? over the clock speed will burn the CPU ??? yes...same as sex....some can stand longer but only one shot.... some can a lot of shot but cannot stand long... some has long but not strong... some has short and can stand strong... so answering your question i hope that u understand that NOT even the same batch, steepings, sllicone, wafer, chocolate chip processor can perform the same....it depends on the technique and a whole lotta luck.... Burn CPU....high clock speed don burn the CPU...high voltage does.... QUOTE(XCremator @ Jan 2 2006, 10:50 PM) Bro is this ur pc? coz my fren claim that he helped you overclock it.. just need some comfirmation.. hmmm...i wish it was mine....QUOTE(styloe @ Jan 3 2006, 07:49 AM) How come ES processor cant OC much than the normal ones? unfortunately we can't(and if there is he wont be reading this post coz there is no reply from him...)..All components performs differently compares to its brothers...I tot ES is better! Can anyone tell me with mobo can support ES 775 proc tat have PCI-E gpu?Best for OC also stable?apreciate it MY RIG P4 2.8 ES 775 + stok HSF n fan Gigabyte 8IPE775/G 512x2 Kingston KVR DDR333@400 winbond chips nizam wat spec ur using?care to share? the best way is to learn the technique (again like sex) then see the results for your self.....I dont think you wanna us to see while you 'do it' right....So stick with the technique and ur be safe.... What is the technique u may ask????Well read stickies... QUOTE(hosty @ Jan 4 2006, 04:59 AM) I"m newbie anything OC but got ineteested while reading this forum. can...push the FSB bit by bit...do it in BIOS...untill u cant reboot....then recover by lowering the FSB it down again untill u can pass POST and boot into windows...after that try stability test such as Prime,Super PI,CPU Burn....Try to see if the test failed among ur overclocked FSB/....if fail lower down a little until you can pass around 5 hours of stability testing....I have a Intel P4 630 Prescott LGA775 Also,i'm using a I-cute casing with 450w PSU. MY mobo is the MSI PM8MV-2 Can I still oc the CPU abit more? I wanna get the most out of it.. for more info read the stickies at the main Overclocker United page.... QUOTE(styloe @ Jan 4 2006, 08:00 AM) Sifu, Its how you make the most outta both worlds...(again sex) like if ur short, try not to use doggy technique coz it will make it unreachable....Could u be more specific by wat do ya mean by "optimization" there..thnx much appreciate it.sorry to trouble u.. Im still learning ere same as overclocking.... lets say a 3000mhz P4 with 200FSB x 15 multiplier....(imagine that the proc is ES) then after a lot of testing you found out that your proc works best with a 275 FSB increase....but the proc wont be a stable as the Ram (assume TCCD)....so: 275 x 15 = 4125MHZ (WOW) but remember...ur proc is unable to work as high....Jus say your proc works best at 3500mhz...so you will either drop the multipiler to 12 which gives you 3300mhz or 13 which give you 3575mhz speed...which is 75mhz more clock than u r stable at...but still can be counter by vcore increase.... So its better to have a test on all the components to see which is which needs 'optimization'. The use the ability of the ES to control the Multiplier which is crucial in determinating your result...
