i915 chipset = locks upto 10% of the standard FSB, after that it wont boot.. ada safety mechanism..
if you still wanna playaround with your current mobo, you can try adjusting its chipset voltage (if you have that option la.. will increase 10 - 15 MHz jer, but better than nothing) ..

btw, where did you get your ES from? and how much?
*
hmm....actually i get it from my brother...he work as intel engineer at intel penang...ES very rare right?...that's why i use dekstop board D915GAV...the standart intel mobo..he gave all that to me as my birthday present...i'm still newbies in overclocking....so i keep on discover it. smile.gif

nizamextreme, if u want to oc more.
sell the board and get a nice i865pe or i875 board. biggrin.gif
*
hmm?? i think those chipset for socket 478 right?...my processor is LGA 775...thats why i use i915 for 775...if u see my cpu-z info..it said i use mpga 478...my cpu-z reading for the socket is invalid..i'll show u my processor and mobo unsure.gif

sorry. my mistake but still...
sell the Intel board and get something from Asus/Abit.
You should be able to squeeze the every potential of the CPU

I want to break 4ghz~!!!!!...
but hell shitt...  i can't get anything further 240 fsb...
meaning that max i can go is 3.6ghz ...

aihh... i;m repeating over and over again in lyn on my ocing problem..
but till now... still no solution... sigh~``...

anything above 240 fsb.. , it'll fluctuate like maddd...
jumping like 3.6ghz -> 2.4ghz -> 2.8ghz -> 1.8ghz -> 3.5ghz -> 3.2ghz
SIAW!!!!!!!!!!!

and YES, i already turned off those bios settings such as, thermal control, spread spectrum.. bla bla....

Hell yea.. still can't get to 4ghz after tried for half a year already..!!!
SOMEONE PLS GIVE ME MY 4GHZ...!!!! lolzzz..
*
wow man...i think your hyper 48 can't handle anymore heat if u oc till 4.0ghz..hohoho...i already use hyper48 before...its good at idle but not too good when full load...well good luck man. biggrin.gif

i'm using the same processor as u...i think i'm reaching the processor limit....3.4 is the max clock i can get..beyond that...it wont boot...3.5 still can boot..but not stable...i dont know actually why..i think maybe the processor limit..also same thing happen when i increase my fsb and raise my multiplier..still wont boot beyond 3.4...if u all sifoo know why please tell me...i'm a newbie too... smile.gif

Hi guys,..

Is it normal for my temp to go from 53C at load to 65C just by openin my winamp visualisation.I just put in artic silver 5 but just using stock HSF.idle at 44C.
*
your temp is normal for prescott...no need to worry..if it reach 70 its quite hot...if your using artic silver 5 it takes about 200 hours to actually "masak" or stable.. smile.gif

QUOTE(hoongji @ Jan 6 2006, 10:18 AM)
my 2.4c D1 is currently overcloked to 3.2Ghz. ram timing is 2.5-3-3-7 and divider 5:4. my ram is OCZ platinum EL PC3200 rated at 2-2-2-5. my processor is running on stock HSF and just recently i have cleaned the surface of the cpu, so there is no more cooling cream, only pure contact between the cpu and heatsink. on idle, the temperature is 40 while in full load it's 50. so far so good as it is stable and passed all tests.

my question is can i go higher without risking of damage to my cpu. how high can i go with stock HSF. i'm sure i haven't hit the wall yet, but i don't dare to push higher, risking my components.

any advice will be appreciated
*
wooo ohmy.gif no thermal grease...i dont know what to say man...just make sure ur keep an eye on your temp...it maybe risky if u dont put some thermal compound...the heat cant flow to heatsink efficiantly if no thermal compound i think blush.gif ...let see what other people think... smile.gif

when i say 50 celcius on full load, i mean the temperature of the heatsink only. that's where my temperature probe rests. but i don't really know the real temperature of the cpu
*
well...try to use speedfan or MBM5 software..u will know the cpu temp then. smile.gif

i'm using ABIT IS7 (pure) with OCZ Platinum EL PC3200. at 1:1 divider and 2.5-3-3-7, i can reach 3Ghz which i think can go a liltle bit higher. at 5:4 divider, i was able to hit 3.2Ghz in just one try, no sweat. and again i think can go higher.

i'm just a little bit worried since my cpu now don't have thermal paste and it's on HSF.
*
come on man..get some thermal grease....artic silver 5 is da best for overclocking...its for ur own good smile.gif

wink.gif All Sifu here,
I am using a Pentium4 531prescott 3.0ghz,
and a MSI 7028 915P Neo2 Platinum with DOT(Dynamic overclocking technology)
well, i have a CoreCenter software,
i am thinking of trying OC my Proc
and my ram is 512 corsair value ramDDR2 533
All i need is just increase the FSB in the corecenter is it?
or should i do in the CMOS?
how should i do?
and 1 more question
do increase vcore void the warranty?if i didnt burnt the proc due to OC sweat.gif
Noob in OC here
thanks for help notworthy.gif
*
well..use cmos..dont use software....your ram..what chip did it use?..about the vcore..it depend..sometime to make it stable u need to increase it...but there is a limit..if i'm not mistaken until 1.55..beyond that is danger..u should read more about overclocking using your mobo..it may help. smile.gif
