Usually people prefer low clock cpu to oc it so that can get high fsb...

make sure u got water cooling to oc it extremely
set the GAT to AAADD and try again. Set the ram timing to 3448
*
GAT to AAADD?.. my mobo seem dont have these option @ bios.. what is dat for anyway bro?.. the multiplier for this mobo is also have been locked @ 20.. do u know how to unlock it?.. by the way i'd figured out the lies.. the cpu:dram ratio depends on the cpu itself.. after i change the option ->n/b strap cpu as<- "PSB 533" from "by CPU" the cpu:dram option "1:1" and "4:5" appeared.. now im running my P4 2.0 @ 2.8 @ 1.65V(49 idle, 62.5 load).. cpu:ram - 140:175(multiplier x20).. ram timing 3-4-4-8 @ 2.7V.. would like to ask ur opinion bout what more can i do next bro?..

Ur giga mobo is a decent overclocker. All u need is to get rid of the Aero4 and get a better HSF. OS based overclocking utility is rubbish. The good ole Bios provides better tweaking manipulation. Probably, ur cpu would do around 2.8ghz-3.2ghz with a high end HSF, also, u need to test and find the sweet spot.
I'm not sure what u mean by 'internal clock', Cpu Speed u mean? The best way to check if it's throttling is to run superPI. There's a stage where u'll get uber slow calculation time.
that 2.26Ghz 533fsb northwood really can hit 2.8 to 3.2?.. blink.gif

yeah...i was wondering that myself. I couldn't even get it to go beyond 2.6ghz and he says it can go all the way to 3.2?  blink.gif  is it on air cooling or water cooling?

if it can really hit 3.2, then  thumbup.gif  thumbup.gif
push ur Vcore summore to surpass the 2.6 barrier..
here is mine b4 with 2.0Ghz northwood with stock heatsink..

I'm juz qouting the range of overclocking ability. of course, with superb cooling like WC, u can push the chip further
last time my 2.0@2.8Ghz load temp is about 58 degree.. let say if i had a wc sytem attact there and the temp drop around 5 degree, will it go any higher?.. unsure.gif bcoz after dat i've push the vcore to the max, the only stable is at 2.8.. cant go any higher.. sad.gif

i see your voltage was at 1.68v. i dun even dare to go beyond 1.6v (my default was 1.5)  sweat.gif
so u think i should just dump the software OC and meddle with the bios instead?
the problem is i do not know the limit of my chip. if overclocked too much, later become charcoal. smile.gif
then no need to go beyond 2.6Ghz la bro.. laugh.gif

btw, the easytune software from gigabyte also overclocks the PCI, AGP, RAM frequencies as well (do not know 1f it's 1:1 for the ram or not), but i managed to run my RAM from 333 to 400 @ 2.6ghz.
learn to use the bios setting dude.. much more fun.. thumbup.gif there is lot of awesome guidance here..

yea...i have stopped OC from my M-barton,hehe

Now using 3.0 Em64T not bad la
then freezer7 is still ok.. neway u can attach dual fan for them for increase the performance(maybe someday u wanna oc ur 3.0).. i luv their design actually..

hi guys, im noob at overclocking, pls help me.

im using P4 2.4 B, 512kb L2 cache.
i heard that this proc max clock speed is 3Ghz izzit true??

last time i was able to overclock my proc from 133 to 166, that is 2988Mhz. it was stable and can complete several benchmark. i was using 512MB apacer DDR RAM running at 2-3-3-7 timing. PCI & AGP frequency locked.

but after i add another 512MB RAM to my system, my PC cant OC even to 145 FSB, dunno why, can someone tell me??
what is the mobo u use?.. r u running in dual channel mode?.. both ram is identical(same brand and chips)?..

my mobo is ASUS P4P800-X i865PE

my PSU is POWER LOGIC ATRIX 500T, currently using 6800LE (dunno my PC enough power or not, but last time using cheapo PSU & 9600XT able to OC to 2988Mhz)

my RAM is APACER PC3200 (is cheapo RAM, bought at different time but should be same model), but due to my FSB is 133, so is running at PC2700 speed on dual channel.

>>do u think that maybe is my RAM not able to run on dual channel??
*
depends on the ram chips.. if both have diff chips, it is not suitable..

QUOTE(deathbringer @ Dec 27 2005, 02:02 PM)
i finally dumped my O/C software and dived straight into my bios.

managed to only bump up to 160 b4 windows gave me the finger. smile.gif

tried 165 @ 1.6v but windows didn't like it.

so now it's at 160 @ 1.6v, which is around 2.73ghz (up from 2.26. ori vcore=1.5v), which isn't much. sad.gif It makes very little difference from my software OC)

then there's another problem. after i did the oc, i can't access my device manager. neither could i access my network connections (my LAN icon in my taskbar went MIA), but i still have internet connection.

RAM running at 400 (ori=333). AGP & PCI are locked.

also, after i o/c, windows asked me to re-activiate windows (i use ori) coz there was a significant hardware change.  blink.gif  though reactivating it was no problem.

where did i go wrong?
in my opinion, it is still unstable for ur procs at that speed(2.73Ghz @ 1.6Vcore), and make whole ur system including the OS unstable.. maybe the 2.6Ghz is the wall already.. for the active connection at ur taskbar, have u check the checkbox at the connection properties("show icon in the notification area when connected") either it was checked or not?..
