Dell IPS monitors:

Simply put, IPS monitors are a step above "normal" monitors in terms of colour accuracy and reproduction

Buying a laptop JUST for a "better display" is rather pointless. You're better off spending a fraction of that $$ to get a decent IPS monitor.

Sames goes to those who buy a phone JUST for the camera lawl.
*
I would go for Imac just because of the display. really I meant it.
Yesterday I went to lowyat to find a LED screen well I found monitor for 1k yet it turns me down it's not as sharp as Imac.
guess what makes it different? the OS! tongue.gif
even those ultra sharp LED screen + Fedora 13 is not comparable to Imac + snow leopard

I have had my Dell 2707WFP for 3 years or so and the colour is really amazing ( those who have viewed it before always commented about that ), to me its very close to the Mac's 27inch LCD ( I have read that the Dell 2707WFP is actually using the same panel with the Mac, just different brand.

QUOTE
The response time of S-IPS is adequate, ranging from 6ms to 16ms with current panels. This is only slightly slower than TN panels. However, gamers should take this into consideration. Fast paced games may suffer from motion blur or ghosting with S-IPS panels that have a response time higher than 8ms.

ignore this part. my 2007WFP is at 25ms and I have no problem with games. no blurring nor ghosting. biggrin.gif
