QUOTE(s6xs9x @ Apr 6 2011, 02:34 PM) Mocking us D90 users eh! http://www.nikon-asia.com/pagearticle.php?...=225-789bda4955Can you please link me to this beginner guide please. I always have the tendency to set auto ISO but never got the nerves to really shoot with the setting on (M). Perhaps reading up the guide might enlighten me or some of us. I totally agree, underexposed shots in limiting the ISO will introduce even much higher noise than Higher ISO perfectly exposed. Matrix metering for this case? here you go.... and google the golden rule of third? and" the hero's journey"....oh wait... that is filmtography QUOTE(Andy214 @ Apr 6 2011, 02:41 PM) This was recently posted in Nikon Malaysia FB page, and also by Agito in previous post: http://dslr.nikon-asia.com/amateur1/ Metering is just for reference, just like the histogram... depend on situation, it may not be always correct. However the metering you can change to spot or center-weighted to accomodate different situation. but i try to shoot more flower with D70s and n8 if possible la |

QUOTE(jepang @ Apr 7 2011, 12:45 AM) This should explain well...http://www.canon.co.uk/for_home/product_fi..._comparison.asp *canon site haha but same explaination...ignore the 15mm fish eye view you have DSLR right? turn your kit lens into 50mm and 35mm see how tight of the view la... better finding a humanoid/ human subject stand there and shoot and see...eg: if you wan half body then estimate how far minimum you need to stand to shoot or whatever QUOTE(ComradeZ @ Apr 7 2011, 12:46 AM) i thought got "AF/AF-S" baru got motor inside the lens? D and G are the difference of aperture ring? |

QUOTE(Terbulance @ Apr 7 2011, 01:11 AM) I think the lens used in the pic is wide angle. But nevermind that. oh so if wan all things sharp sharp minimum aperture must be F8 or higher? To capture pictures like this or landscape, you need to use apertures like f8 - f10, so that the whole picture look sharp. If you're using f3.5 or faster, only the center is sharp and other place is blurred out. Hope that helps ohhhh ... okay... last time use my friend 50mm f1.8 i just open wide..duno lower down the aperture till whan value to make whole things sharp... if photo like this la.... how low i need to adjust to make the 3 people only sharp sharp? (the 3 people are not same distance...) » Click to show Spoiler - click again to hide... « thanks Added on April 7, 2011, 1:17 am QUOTE(Terbulance @ Apr 7 2011, 01:15 AM) to make the colour richer? cannot set to Vivid mode? QUOTE(Terbulance @ Apr 7 2011, 01:23 AM) I'm not sure how low you need to go for that picture, you can test and see. The other things you need to consider is where you're focusing, focal length and others. You can learn more about it here. It's called depth of field. that 2 i already know la At high aperture (e.g. f1.8), the subject of where you're focusing is shart and the background is blurred. This is called bokeh. Google it and you will learn more. ISO is more to light. Higher ISO will give you more 'light', but more noise if your camera doesn't have good ISO perfomance. So when taking picture, higher ISO can achieve faster shutter speed/lower aperture. I don't know how to explain in detail so ask uncle Google to teach you just techincal setting i not really know haha... just like we know need flour and egg to make a cake, but now much flour and eggs for 1kg cake? |

QUOTE(ifer @ Apr 7 2011, 09:12 AM) warranty card should be issued by Nikon (Malaysia) and not some self printed warranty (shop own warranty) or, give nikon centre a call to ask whether that particular shop that you are about to get the camera from is an authorised dealer or not. as for second hand, do check the condition of the camera. new and mint condition has a huge difference. there should be a clear sticker on the LCD screen. etc etc... i am not so worried about things like this actually. i am more worried about the accessories that you are being forced to buy. filter for rm 200. memory card for rm 100. and stuffs like that. some sellers even tell you that there is currently no stock and will advice you to place a deposit of rm 200 (non refundable) then when the camera arrives, they will say oh nikon raise the price to rm 4400 etc. i have even come across sellers who took out the battery and charger and tell the buyers that the camera do not come with these 2 items and ask the buyer to pay rm 500 for these 2 items. some will exchange the original battery to a fake/OEM battery. man, i have loads of stories like this from my students. but biasa lah. students kena cheat. so what is usally trustable shop? J-One? Fotokem? |

QUOTE(ifer @ Apr 7 2011, 09:25 AM) nikon centre have a list of authorised nikon dealer. thanks to inform, will research fake lens and fake hoya filter later...since i gonna buy that 2 later in weekend. ask them. but usual shops like J-One, Fotokem, Shangrila, Keycolor, Boeing they are fine. most shops are fine except for those in *coughlowyatcough* but as i have said, besides grey set, there are thousands of other ways a shop can 'cheat' a customer. have you seen a fake hoya? how do you differentiate an original battery and a fake battery? fake sandisk card anyone? i know all these because of the stories my students came back to tell me. so i learn from them and inform the future batch of students on what to beware of. |
