Yeah, now the numbering is all in order. D3100 and D5100 for entry, D7000 in between entry and semi pro, D300 and D700 for semi pro and D3 for pro.

eh the replacement for d300s might be changed to D9000
*
o_O why is that? Doesn't sound too right -.- The 3 digit seems good for the semi pro series.

Luckily i managed to grab Crumpler Singapore Sling from Amazon nearly 21 pound. Now the price increased nearly to 40 pound.
*
21 pound is reasonable! I want one so badly sad.gif

D5100 same sensor as D7000 right? I remember previously some website was comparing D7000 against the D700, D3s and D300s. At 25600 D7000 has the best output (even better than the mighty D3s). Hmm.

Yah. Same sensor.
*
If a 16.2MP crop sensor can do this, a 16.2MP FX sensor will do it much better biggrin.gif. Getting really interesting! Imagine if you are able to shoot at 12800 like what FX users are doing with 3200 iso now tongue.gif.

QUOTE(ifer @ Apr 6 2011, 10:18 AM)
one question though. why would anyone want to shoot at 3200 or 12800?
well, for those who shoot at those iso (at least oftenly or constantly)

me unless emergency i will go to 3200 (since it's emergency so noise level is not something that i care)
if not, maximum is 400 only.
heck, the hasselblad H4D that i am trying now can go up to 200 max. lol
*
Mainly for low light capability and when you don't want to use a flash.

My experience for instance, when I was using a D90 I usually go about ISO800 at maximum for low light, but with D700 I know I have buffer up to ISO3200. Like wise, if the new sensor can perform at 12800 similarly with what my D700 can do at ISO3200 I can opt for smaller aperture or faster shutter. It gives you more flexibility.

QUOTE(Tony Stark @ Apr 6 2011, 11:35 AM)
this is true indeed. saw some pics at some flickr thatthe D7k's ISO performance is almost on par with the D700. so nikon must work on the D800 to be better than any of these. this is interesting. just like u said. oh nikon, pls put me out of my misery and show me the D800! laugh.gif
*
It will be better than D7000, its a bigger sensor with lesser pixel density.

QUOTE(KTCY @ Apr 6 2011, 11:43 AM)
D800 then no more investment in photography gears laugh.gif
As if sleep.gif

LOL, the journey doesn't end tongue.gif

D5100 LCD pivot axis is at the side, possible of ori BG by Nikon?
*
The D5100 isn't the same range as D7000. I don't think there will be an original battery grip.

Let's see if Nikon issues an update for the D7000 to handle 30fps or not.

RM90 only? Good price!

I'm currently using the Apacer AM500, before this a cap ayam but cap ayam don't have CF slot so had to upgrade.

AF-S versus screw drive. DX versus FX.

You can choose not to read that as well.
Erk.. Should I change just because someone I never meet before ? laugh.gif
