1. SSPN-i cannot use credit card / bp to reload?

2. For SSPN-i plus, i see the pakej like RM100 ---> RM90 simpanan, RM10 takaful. If I pay RM600 for initial pakej, RM60 will burn into takaful?

3. For tax relief, lets say, Dec 2018 hoot RM8k, Jan 2019 withdraw RM8k. Dec 2019 hoot again RM8k. simpanan bersih is RM0 instead of RM8k?

4. Withdrawal can perform via online? Need to tie to what bank?
*
1. Can

2. For SSPN-i Plus, majority of your payment will go to the insurance instead. Only a small portion goes to savings.

3. Yes. You'll need to add in the amount you withdrew.

4. Cannot, you'll have to be physically present at PTPTN office. The only alternative is to open Bank Islam & link it to your SSPN account.

Tq for your reply, the insurance part, once paid, considered burn right? I saw the diamond package 60% goes to insurance. which is RM300 for RM500 depositing.
*
You'll not be able to freely withdraw if you're tied to the SSPN-i Plus unless you're willing to burn. At least that's the experience conveyed to me by my colleague.

Maybe this is just me but if I wanted to get insurance for either me or my kid, I'd rather go for one by an insurance company. sweat.gif

Ok then I just go for SSPN-i. How about this? can freely get the money? I reload today, take out from bank islam via online tonight can?
*
No, it will take SSPN a couple days to register the deposit. Once it's in, you can freely withdraw but if you read back a couple pages, there's a withdrawal fee if it's made via Bank Islam.

Going to start the project, but for the 8k tax relief thing...haha.

I am just wondering how the withdrawal and deposit at the same years will be calculated as "simpanan bersih" at their term.
*
Simpanan bersih = amount deposited - amount withdrew in the same year

thanks for double confirm.

I try to search through the PTPTN website but can't find any info about this.

I have a few more questions if you don't mind:

1) Using bigpay to pay SSPN-i can only be done over PTPTN counter?

2) Any charge for every top up regardless of the amount?

3) How long does the top up takes to be reflected in the SSPN-i account?
*
1) Yes.

2) No.

3) Around 2-3 working days.

add one more question.

Those counter @ shopping mall also can perform transaction BP to SSPN-i?
*
I've only been to PTPTN branches so no idea if those makeshift counters in malls work the same. I believe they should since it'll be senseless to keep lotsa cash with not much security around.

Dear all, just to confirm, if both parents are having separate SSPN account for their child, then are they eligible to enjoy RM8k tax each (RM16k total) for the deposit this year?
*
Yes, confirmed. Source: me & my wife.

QUOTE(besiegetank @ Jul 6 2019, 11:42 PM)
Assuming both of them are at 21% bracket, I guess they should max this saving first before venturing into other moderate investments such UT right?
*
This question is subjective but if you're just looking to enjoy the tax relief, technically you just need to "park" your 16K for a period of ~1 month in SSPN-i. After that, you can withdraw everything & invest in anything else that you deem to be at >4%pa profitable.

What if 2019 6k
2020 0k
2021 need 12k?

No, if you skipped a year, you start from fresh again so just 8K is required for 2021.

QUOTE(soules83 @ Jul 8 2019, 08:02 PM)
rm8k relief is nice, but the sspn-i interest rate of 4.xx% = 4.xx/12 months? which means it depends on how long you put the fresh cash in the account?
*
Yes, the dividend is pro-rated.

QUOTE(soules83 @ Jul 8 2019, 08:08 PM)
if not mistaken...the 8k rebate works this way.

Year              SSPN Deposit          Tax relief
2019            8k                  8k
2020            16k                8k
2021            -8k                0k (if you declare 8k, the tax guy will come after you)
*
You definitely haven't make any deposit into SSPN-i before so not sure why you're here dictating how CardNoob should make his deposit / withdrawal. FYI, PTPTN will automatically populate your SSPN tax relief field in the tax form so if you're eligible, you'll see the number appears there when you're declaring your tax.

QUOTE(supsupsui @ Jul 9 2019, 07:49 AM)
Anyone chooses savings and also takaful insurance?

How about the insurance policies?

Are you asking how is the SSPN-i Plus works or are you asking if it's worth it? Not sure what your questions are.

sorry to disappoint you, I been topup sspn longer than you might thought. the income tax population only works if you done it before. The autofill up is auto populated based on your previous income tax record.
*
I stand corrected though I still find it suspicious that you're asking about how the dividend works. rolleyes.gif

And no, the SSPN field is automatically populated even for new SSPN depositors. My wife is a new contributor & her tax form has SSPN field readily filled up when she opened up her form April this year.

er.. i think there's a miscommunication:
a. Talexeh (pls correct me if i misassumed) is talking about PTPTN "SSPN's tax document" which tells the account owner/us, how much tax relief we can file
VS
b. U are talking about LHDN's online tax preparation/submission which autofills based on previous data
*
No, I was referring to the SSPN tax relief field in the e-Filing. My wife opened a SSPN-i account in November 2018 & when she loaded up her e-Filing early this year, the RM6K in the SSPN tax relief field has already been filled up.

IMHO, it's better to get policy from insurance company rather than a government body that's tasked with student's tertiary education fund.

guys, wanna ask, last week (thursday) manage to open sspn-i for my boy. quickly after that i open bank islam account and link it to the sspn account. did some deposit via boost and received deposit conformation by emel (from PTPTN)

my question, where can i check current balance in my sspn-i account? try the link in sspn but just show my account is active without option of penyata semasa. Check via bank islam ATM (sspn - penyata baki) also fail (no data).

btw, already more than 48 hours from my last deposit trasaction. thanks

Check here: https://www.ptptn.gov.my/saving/sspnlogin.html

You'll need to register an online account if you've yet to do so.

got some question regarding the BIGPAY card.

Is it every month we only can reload max 10k and swipe max 10k from the BIGPAY card? I remember last year December when I want to swipe SSPN > 10k it doesn't let me to reload more in that month.

So indirectly can reload Bigpay with creditcard and then pay sspn using Bigpay?
*
Yes, BigPay has been accepted for quite some time now.

In case the counter personnel asked, just tell them BigPay is a debit card.

do note....you asked...."is it possible to withdrawal all the money from sspn account?"

as i think some here usually leave some balance in there...instead of "all"
*
You CAN withdraw all but that would equate to closing the account.
