Thx. How long the process it takes to cancel when you call CS? And transfer of treatpoints is it immediate or need to wait 1 month?

emm, 3 days i think as the bank cannot process cancellation coz they help me submit back to cc centre. treatspoint transfer i need to call up CS again and readjust in my next statement. luckily no hic cup, coz a lot complaint MBB counter service suk.

no problem, recently i just cancel by DA cc and surrender to cimb bank. i even scratch off the cvc number to prevent them fraud my card and request them to acknowledge my letter too.

Just call CS to cancel, they din ask me to surrender card....do i need to get any cancellation letter from them too?

I cancelled my supp card via phone call. It took effect in less than 5 minutes.
After 5 minutes, my CIMB clicks showed the supp card had zero credit limit.

But mine still got credit limit out there....

Wanted to know..if I cancel 1 credit card, I need to clear the outstanding balance right?
After I terminate, bank will send me bill statement right? what if I didn't clear the outstanding balance in 1 shot? the bank will charge me interest or what?

You CANNOT cancel your card if you still have outstanding balance in ur credit card account

just to confirm about EPP plan, let say i plan to cancel the card and there is few instalment to be clear

Do i have to pay penalty for early settlement?

Oh my god..wanted to cancel my card before 1 Jan 2012..as maximum 2 cards per person only starting next year..

yes, bank definitely will charge you for early settlement. Better just pay rm50 for GST rather than pay early settlement fee

Actually, you can cancel your card even if there is still unpaid outstanding balance in your credit card. You just have to pay in full when the next statement comes.


As far as i know, there is no penalty of any sort for HSBC 0% IPP.


No worries. You'll be given up to two years to clear your remaining outstanding balance.

That mean I can cancel my card even there is outstanding balance? and I'm given 2 years to clear it? with interest?

Yes. You can cancel it even if there is outstanding balance. As far as i am concerned, all banks have offer this kind of settlement plan.
