u guys just beware of the banks stupid tricks!!!!
No worries. EON Bank will soon be a history. A wedding between EON Bank and Hong Leong Bank is underway. Oh no ... this just reminds me. Hong Leong Bank is another crook bank too. Man, a holy matrimony of two crooks. A monster they are going to become ohmy.gif doh.gif

You CANNOT cancel your card if you still have outstanding balance in ur credit card account
*
Actually, you can cancel your card even if there is still unpaid outstanding balance in your credit card. You just have to pay in full when the next statement comes.

That mean I can cancel my card even there is outstanding balance? and I'm given 2 years to clear it? with interest?
This is for every bank or some banks only?  hmm.gif

Yes. You can cancel it even if there is outstanding balance. As far as i am concerned, all banks have offer this kind of settlement plan.

Update:

Yesterday called up Eon/Hong Leong Bank to cancel my card, but she said must clear all outstanding balance only can cancel..

So I cannot cancel my card now until I clear all outstanding..  rclxub.gif

Man... Hong Leong again... tell them you are earning below RM36,001/pa and need to cancel their credit card by the end of this month. A statement release by BNM clearly states that you must cancel it by the end of the month and must clear the outstanding balance in the next 24-month. Try to talk to them again.

i think like what hye explained, they charged me for the govt tax. This sucks cos i didnt even start to use the card yet!
Unfortunately, the government tax is actually imposed by the government, not the bank and all banks do charged this tax upon card approval.

the lady officer said u can get ur $50 back after 3months; with the condition u use that card for minimum $350 transactions within 2months.
Nonsense! I rather pay tat $50 la!
How is that a nonsense ? At least they are offering you a cash incentive to pay for the credit card tax. Many other banks such as Maybank and CIMB Bank don't offer such deal. Besides, with everything so expensive now, it couldn't be any easier to spend RM350 in two months. Just use your card at all the places that accept credit card. We all do that biggrin.gif

I rather pay RM50 than to pay addtional RM300 or maybe more just to get that refund. They might issue other charges..
I can get better cash back with my UOB card than AMB.
2% cash back and is subject to minimum amount blocks is no good compared to UOB.

So you shouldn't have applied for the card in the first place. And whether or not you will be charged by other things is up to your payment pattern and how much you pay by your credit card due date each month.

Any charges on that? I think CCRIS is P&C?
No. You can however, only print it once every three months. You will need to bring your MyKad and of course your thumb.

goin bank 2 service pc, the office force me to sign cimb credit card. i own a maybank card and i refuse it, but he keep pushing me and said try to fill , i told him my salary v low but he say he will adjust for me, he fill the form n ask me to sign and take my maybank card n ic to photocopy, can i call cimb card center to cancel my application before they charge me rm50 goverment tax?????????
*
Just your existing credit card and IC ? But we can't apply for a new card using this method anymore since January this year.

Anyway, it depends on when the officer is going to submit your signed application form. You may have to make more than one or two phone calls to CIMB Bank for the next few weeks.

Just don't email him your latest payslip then he won't be able to proceed with your application.
