Is that commonly CIMB charged you extra administration fee if you make your payment/purchase via PayPal? I cannot this information on CIMB website.

I made the same comparison, Maybank does not charge you extra if you make payment on Paypal.

Called CIMB, they say cannot waive GST, use point to offset. I spend all my points, then call to cancel.

After confirming my details and before asking me to confirm, they offer me RM50 cashback if I spend RM200 within 30 days. Rejected and proceed with cancellation.

This information might be useful for you guys who want to keep the card

Feel CIMB not much good deals/offers lately. Plus later can sign up again if they have good offer after the cooling period.

CIMB explains even though the amount quoted in Ringgit Malaysia, the settlement can be performed via overseas terminal.

This will not known to Card Issuer till transaction posted. If the merchant's settlement is imposed via overseas terminal, the administration fee of 1% is to be imposed in order to cover the administration costs.

It is stated under fee & charges (No.4) behind the statement, there is an indication that 'Conversion for overseas transactions –
-The conversion rate as determined by Visa International or MasterCard International or JCB International.
-The 1% admin fee is to be imposed in order cover the administration costs of handling foreign currency transactions.
