IMHO, i think spring mount is better. Its not about how tight u fasten the block, its about it being even.. which i think spring mount does a great job at it.got some questions to ask all sifus... hardmount vs spring mount, which 1 better for apogee GT on LGA775 mounting? planning to get blot + nuts to hardmount my apogee gt, with a backplate of course... IMHO, since there's an IHS, go ahead and hard mount. You gotta be somewhat precise when bolting down.
EDIT: lol someone beat me to it in a moment. just to elaborate a little, I assume you are running a bowed Apogee GT. So mounting pressure does play an important role in this case. A good amount of pressure with springs do a good job as well actually. This post has been edited by MetalZone: Jan 16 2008, 01:10 AM |

You gotta be somewhat precise when bolting down. so meaning both also same? hmmm, gotto tried out hardmount with nuts thighten hard with proper tools such as spanner.. mayb a slight 1/8 turn by spannar after tighten by hand, so that cant overtighten the block. currently using a backplate with the original apogee gt screws and springs, the screw seems not long enough after using backplate as its hard to get the nuts onto the screw after placing the spring, so i currently using small spring from other waterblock which is softer and shorter, so i might just have a try with hardmount.EDIT: lol someone beat me to it in a moment. just to elaborate a little, I assume you are running a bowed Apogee GT.
