does the coolant improves your temperature??

who hooo.....for the price of that Acetal, i better buy myself an Apogee.... laugh.gif

I don't know exactly cause I havent tested its performance myself. HydrX is useful for those who want UV reactiveness. But this is for those who want more serious coolants and don't want any of the HydrX's bling bling.

I'm not so keen on coolants. This is because besides an anti-corrosion inhibitor (which is unnecessary unless your running a non all-copper loop), it's just not worth it. The last time I used coolants (STP brand) my tygons got murky, algae built up and temps got very bad indeed

well i'm sure u noe a lot of users if they use coolants they only use zerex/valvoline super racing coolants. both zerex/valvoline super racing coolants and redline water wetter are "rumoured" to produce slightly better temps, well thats at least what "some" tests say. How true, I don't know.

And for what purpose Metalzone? redline water wetter I can understand as it prevents algae build up if used moderately but coolants are not a good idea unless you plan to run the rig 24/7 to ensure steady flow and not allow the coolant to manifest itself on the inner wall of the tygons which are reactive to certain chemicals

zerex and water wetter are no different as coolants. redline water wetter frankly its probably worse... it foams up too much and smells terrible and supposedly stains tubings more than zerex does. either way, neither should be overused (a small amount should suffice. the problem starts when some people think more is better or increases the thermal transfer), a common scenario why murkiness occur. zerex doesnt mention algae resistance however, but in any way, zerex still contains some ethylene glycol (which is poisonous and should keep algae at bay) albeit less than other fully ethylene glycol based antifreezes/coolants. At the end of the day, its all down to personal preference really. Some people use it as algaecide, some as a little bit of colouring (LOL its true some people do that), some against corrosion, (and zerex is supposed to reduce the surface tension of water). Whereas to some, distilled water and no more, no less. Well I know in our situation, zerex problably is useless to do anything other than to add some colouring to the water but some people still want to use coolants. I'm just providing an alternative to hydrx.

nice to hear that. most likely you wont notice any peformance increase. the head pressure of the pump is already killed by the 1/4" tubings. you will probably see more improvement if you swap the fan on the radiator with a higher CFM fan...try the 100+CFM. i tried it once with a 110CFM fan and i got some nice temp....but the sound of the fan made me swap back to NMB 80CFM fan. i have a very sensitive ears sweat.gif

Good to hear that. Looks like I really have to coat even more epoxy until the outside. The test prototype didnt use that much epoxy either and it sealed well with no visible trace of epoxy on the outside. Can't trust that anymore LOL.

hi there, juz ask if i use my old pump to pair with another radiator and add into my current wc system could work...
such as:reservoir---->pump ---->radiator---->pump--->waterblock---->radiator
plus if the wc kit pair with LICS AAF-1 WATER BLOCK ok onot???

u mean to add in another pump and radiator ?

so its.

RESERVOIR --> PUMP ----> RADIATOR ----> PUMP --> WATERBLOCK ---> RADIATOR ?

I think it shud be like....

1st RESERVOIR --> PUMP ---> RADIATOR ---> WATERBLOCK ---> 2nd RESERVOIR ---> PUMP ----> RADIATOR ----- > 1st RESERVOIR.

Darn.... rclxub.gif

I'm blurred already, it looks almost the same as the setup u have suggested doh.gif

anyways,

if u have a powerful enough pump,

u can just add in another radiator without adding in another pump. biggrin.gif

Well I am not an expert in this, but i am sure that u need a powerfull pump to drive 2 Radiator biggrin.gif

Rite now, i am Dry Testing my New Wc kit, it seems there is no leak...

but , there are a few drops of water coming thru the Nirox Pump..

is that normal for first few starts ?? But later after running for a while, it stops dripping.

i am trying to leave it to run for another day or two, see how it goes biggrin.gif

Thanks biggrin.gif

i currently using nirox pump, if i upgrade my current wc kit which is 1/4" ID tubings to settings looks alike the thermaltake bigwater 745, which is 3/8" ID tubings, can my wc kit on par with it??? any suggestion on running dual radiator with 1x120mm fan and another radiator with 2x 120mm fans??? how should the cycles goes??? biggrin.gif

the propeller base doesnt have any problem.... sealed that one again... hehe...

another round, just to make sure it will not leak in the future....

i found out the leak was from the propeller shaft, on the top of the pump.

i took out the top cover to install a fan , just like Shah Did....

so i sealed the hole there and now no more problem.....

dry testing now, will get back to it, this evening.... biggrin.gif

U can Change ur Pump Fittings from 1/4 to 3/8 ,

but for ur Waterblock, i am not sure, the size is fixed at 1/4.

i think ur radiator fittings are fixed at 1/4 too... biggrin.gif

so the only thing that cud be upgraded wud be ur pump.

this is my suggestion:

use 2 different loop, the reason is your current loop is too restrictive because of the 1/4" tubings. so let the first loop stay as it is.

pump_1---->radiator_1---->water block---->reservoir---->pump_1 (loop_1)

pump_2---->radiator_2---->reservoir---->pump_2 (loop_2)

the second loop will further cool the water in the reservoir. so you'll only need one reservoir. you have to mod your reservoir to dual input and output. the second loop can use 1/2" tubings. so when the time comes for you to upgrade your water block, you already have a 1/2" loop in hand. icon_idea.gif
