Hello All,

I notice that I have what i think is pre-approve Maybank 2 card from m2u, I also got a Amex GCC. Wondering does credit limit is shared between 3 cards? Can i activate the VISA card only? thanks

Yes, credit limit is shared between all three cards.
The cards are pre-activated so if you use the Visa only, you are bound to pay the gst already.

since rm50 cap for rebate is given for each month, may i know when is the start date n end date of the month.

also, since i've just got my cards and today is 25th edi, do i still get rm50 cap for the remaining month assuming the end date is end of the month
*
It follows the calendar date; meaning beginning at 1st and ends at 30th/31st/28th (for February).

I got my card on the 24th of last month and used it immediately. Got the rebate for my transactions at the end of the month so I guess the RM50 cap runs from 1st until end of the month.

just received my MBB2 platinum after 10 working days...

Is it safe to say that the visa card is pretty much useless unless the merchant do not accept Amex?

MBB Visa/Mastercard cards are useful for overseas spending because of competitive forex rates.

if you have 40-50k in fd, why do u need installment for something that cost only 3k...
So that one can keep the money in the account to keep earning interest.

All Shell stations accept AMEX, both at the kiosk and over the counter.

Yes. You can say it like that but then, many places do not accept AMEX. You definitely have to use your MBB2 VISA someday, unless you have other VISA/MasterCard from other banks.

By the way, remember to always use the MBB2 VISA when you're overseas or whenever you buy something online and have to pay in foreign currency. Maybank VISA/MasterCard has the lowest admin fee and exchange rate of all the banks in Malaysia.

both still high. If you really doing cash advance, better check with CS if you still enjoy 20 days interest free period from statement date i.e. new and old transactions subjected to interest charges once you do cash advance AND after checking with CS please report back here to share.

So you have 26 & 27 March to finish the weekend rebate RM50 entitled for March 2011.
Come 1 April 2011, you get another RM50 rebate.

Maybe someone should put in a schedule for 2011 that transactions using the AMEX on this dates are entitled to 5% Weekend Rebates

Spend in March 2011 - 5,6,12,13,19,20,26,27 : Rebate paid out on 1 April 2011
Spend in April 2011 - 2,3,9,10,16,17,23,24,30 : Rebate paid out on 1 May 2011
Spend in May 2011 - 1,7,8,14,15,21,22,28,29: Rebate paid out on 1 June 2011
Spend in June 2011 - 4,5,11,12,18,19,25,26 : Rebate paid out on 1 July 2011
Spend in July 2011 - 2,3,9,10,16,17,23,24,30,31 : Rebate paid out on 1 August 2011
Spend in August 2011 - 6,7,13,14,20,21,27,28 : Rebate paid out on 1 September 2011
Spend in September 2011 - 3,4,10,11,17,18,24,25 : Rebate paid out on 1 October 2011

Oh, I thought the 5% weekend rebate is given based on billing cycle.
