1. Do they provide any reason for rejection? Will the agent appeal for us?
2. The bank called to you to inform this?
3. How many days you get this news after verification call from OCBC?

1. I called the hotline, and it said rejected, but its automatic message.I have asked the agent to appeal.
2. I called the bank, no news from them.
3. I did not get a call from OCBC, my application submitted last tuesday.

As long as if you are within the requirement, your application would be fine.

bank negara malaysia credit card guidelines

The eligibility requirements for credit cards are revised as follows:

- The minimum income eligibility for new credit card holders is set at RM24,000 per annum;

- For cardholders earning RM36,000 per annum and less, the following would be applicable:-

Cardholders can only hold credit cards from a maximum of two issuers.
Existing cardholders who currently hold credit cards from more than two issuers are given up to the end of 2011 to select their preferred issuers. Cardholders will also be given at least two years to service their outstanding credit card debt for the credit cards that have been cancelled for the purpose of meeting this requirement.

The maximum credit limit extended to a cardholder shall not exceed two times their monthly income per issuer.
For existing cardholders, whose credit card outstanding balance exceeds the maximum credit limit, a grace period of two years will be given to them to meet with the new requirement.

I meet all requirements, above 36k, so no problem la.

And i've read all the T&C and BNM guidelines before applying.

Anyway, i found out the reason and its not because of income.

Wait a minute, I didn't know that... meaning if you have a credit card each from Citibank and OCBC, you'll not able to get a third card from say MBB?

A very similar to my case, and now I am the holder of Titanium.

Guess they delay this approval to meet their every month's sale quota. Who knows.

I'm not sure why but my intuition tells me that my appeal will not be successful.

Er, OCBC Ti's minimum requirement is 36k per annum. So the above ruling should not be applicable in this case.

Yes, my reason is unknown. Probably he doesn't want to tell me? I don't know... He just asked me to submit in my EPF statement for him to appeal.
More than a week already, I followed up on Monday, he said still in appeal state.

Follow instructions on the menu, inside the credit card menu, got an option, 4, i think that allows u to check the card.
You need to key in ur IC number. After that it will tell you your IC number, the card applied for, and status.

I checked through that method, by calling the number and typing in my IC number.
After that I tried talking to the CS officer, which is utterly useless.

So I called my agent and asked, and she told me the reason.
But she said she already appealed as she knows my case and I already explained everything to her before I submitted my application.
